STORY TIME Y'ALL

OKAY BUT FIRST IMMA NEED YOU TO SWIPE ALL THE WAY TO SEE HOW SHE WALKED INTO MY SALON MONTHS AGO.

So like, I just want to get this out of the way first. Us stylist are HUMAN people. We deal with chemicals, unknown elements in the hair. Not everyone has access to further education OR the right support system in this INSANE industry. Hair IS an art, but it is ALSO chemistry. There is so much that goes into what we do, and it doesnt always go to plan or our way.

With that being said, let's talk about this for a moment.

Her before photos. These were taken months ago.

There was A LOT of in-between sessions that were not photographed, because honesty? I suck at taking photos. I either get before or after.

Let's just say, she had blonde in between phases just not as amazing as todays finish.

We had quite a bit of different patterns going on in the hair.

She had always been told that she can not get as blonde as we got her and that her hair would melt off. Would her hair melt off? Yeah eventually if what was happening kept happening, (being put under the dryer every time plus going to a darker brown base and constant over lapping with color and lightener.)

Lightener should be used intentionally.

I wish more people had access to better education on how to break down all of this before we leave school. And an industry reality breakdown would be nice.

But really, it took us FOREVER (6 months) to safely get her hair to grow, plus get to a blended blonde AND not melt off the hair. Because LET ME TELL YOU I WAS SCREAMING internally through every process. Her hair was NOT happy when she came to me first.

Treatments, hair cuts, low and slow, lighter base color, MINIMAL over lapping and a few prayers and sacrifices to the hair gods... we have finally made it.

And here I end my ridiculously long story.

So I thought I'd pop in and say hi y'all! My name is Mia. Im a full body waxer and a very passionate hair stylist. I have more of an alternative vibe with occasionally that touch of that Adam Sandler feel 😅. I like to be comfy. My goal is to make YOU look and feel amazing.

I care a lot about your hair and helping you achieve your goals while giving you boat loads of information on how to take care of it. I'm pretty honest and upfront about the reality of whats going on in the hair and how we will get you to your goals. Always realistic, I don't like over promising results. If you want honesty I'm definitely your girl. I'm pretty charismatic as well, so im always up for fun conversations about movies, comics, life, trends or just pretty much anything!

A little bit about the space I'm in... I value comfort and healthy hair over everything. Right now I have a small little shop with JUST ME! So you get 1:1 with me and I dedicate your appointment time to you and your hair (or wax). I have my own private bathroom, 2 rooms. 1 for hair and 1 for waxing. I offer water and snacks for my clients. I'm currently located right off the corner of Shaw and Fruit, directly after the bus stop for those of you curious about where im at.
