EAT THIS:

So, Thanksgiving is a simple event. And we got you covered for these 3 scenarios:

A - Potluck. We share ideas in the next section because you cannot come empty handed.

B - Some person(s) takes care of all the food and you just show up to eat.

C - There is NO “some person” to cook. It's you ! So you need easy and good options. Here are some of our favorites:

Locations are in Irvine, Yorba Linda and Newport Beach. You order online from a selection of meats ( we like prime rib bone-in) and then also a selection of sides (our favorites - butternut squash risotto, brussels sprouts with applewood bacon and fig balsamic, and maple glazed carrots). Dishes vary by location but honestly so, so good. Just tell everyone you made it yourself.

Ok this one is weird. You order your Thanksgiving meal and it gets delivered to your house. But…it’s Williams Sonoma. So you know it will be amazing. And the convenience of not having to shop and deal with crowds. Sit back and let the oven do all the work.

This is our favorite. Why? Because not everyone likes Thanksgiving food nor eats the usual Thanksgiving faire. Sometimes, I just want my steak or my chicken strips and french fries, or even some fancy over priced tacos because it is Thanksgiving and I want to spoil myself. A many places are currently taking reservations which is a blessing for those who want to go out. Be sure to thank the staff for being there on a holiday. They’ll appreciate the gesture more than you know.

BRING THIS:

Usually, we recommend “making something”. This year that’s garbage advice. Go to a professional for food and sit back and enjoy the festivities. Use the extra saved time to comb your hair perfectly.

So both these are essentially the same item, but from different places, all whichever is located closer to you. Small bread rolls, with butter and sugar. Easy to eat, great to share in a large group. Probably only heard of it if you are Filipino. But still cool enough to get all the aunties gossiping about how they could make it themselves. Order online and pick up. Bad Bakers offers a “Bad Bundle”…nom nom. Bad News ...🤤🙌🏽🥳

Alternative: Order Porto’s the night before via DoorDash. Cheese rolls hold well overnight, refrigerated. Boom.

Therefore, October ➡️ Hawaiian Food! We are going to change it up and make THIS the ALL HAWAIIAN FOOD EDITION. So in between your haircuts, here are a bunch of spots that tickle our Hawaiian pineapples and it’s not all katsu and spam you tourists. 😘😜.

So, let’s talk. This is my go to home grown grinds. Poke has inamona. Fried saimen (even autocorrect didn’t know this is a thing), inari stuffed with poke, oxtail soup, Lau Lau, chili over rice, chopped steak & onions, last but not least homemade corned beef hash and eggs. 🐷🐣

If you do not know what these dishes are, that’s ok, you try and let us know. If you know what these dishes are, chances are you lived on Hawaii for some spot of time. Facts. Mean food right here.

Not sure if this place needs an introduction. They have been a staple of Huntington Beach for years now and our favorite Huli Huli chicken. Too many favorites to name. Honestly, order ahead for pick up, parking lot pimp it and eat out of your trunk. Afterwards, shopping at Tarjé or Target next door and walk off the food coma.

So let’s…talk? This spot is new. But the food doesn’t taste new. Food is not shy, as we have loved everything we have tried so far from spam fried rice to pork belly and Malasadas. 🏝️☀️

So, talk more story yeah? This is low high key the favorite. Led by culinary gangster Chef Ai'pono, Ai’pono Cafe in Newport Beach is a never miss. Ok facts, eat whatever the specials are. There will be a line. They will sell out. You no likes how it works? He’ll probably say sorry but now go somewhere else or come earlier. Mahalo.

So, we hit you with all the foods but why a donut shop? Well this donut shop is open 24hrs. Also, this donut shop has long Johns and malasadas. Many places might have malasadas but if you see long johns on the menu then you know something is a brewing here. Long Johns are your bar donuts. But well, Hawaii, calls them long johns. It’s a Hawaii thing. So put on some long johns, order some long Johns and now long lounge time with long johns in your long johns.
