After 5½ unforgettable years, Bourbon Beauties and Beards will be closing, and my final day at the salon will be August 9th. This was not an easy decision to make. Recently, a new opportunity came my way, and after a lot of thought, I’ve chosen to step into this next chapter.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to each of you for trusting me with your hair and for supporting my small business from day one. The bonds we’ve built have been the heartbeat of this salon, and they are something I’ll carry with me always.

Wow, today marks 5 YEARS of owning my business, Bourbon Beauties and Beards.

2011 hair school Amanda would have never believed we did it!

I am here to tell you that when you put your mind on goals, you can achieve them!

So, let's run back to 2020. It was time to spread my wings and see how far I could fly. We were set to open in March of 2020, but the world had a different plot twist in mind. I was no longer able to do hair. For 2 months, the world "shut down," and I had no job. What did I do during this time... well, I took online classes to learn the basics of social media, I watched a lot of videos on new upcoming styles and how to do them, I learned how to start a business, and so much more!

Fast forward to now 5 years later. I have learned so much about owning your own business and more! Taught myself how to make my own website, bookkeeping, creating schedules, pro at laundry... folding towels/capes, customer service, self-taught on social media / marketing,studied and received a certificate in UX Design to better understand website layouts, the list goes on. Yes, I am a ONE WOMEN SHOW!

This was never just another business. This was a place where people could be their true authentic self and talk about life! You are not just a hairstylist or owner. You will be the shoulder someone cries on. You will be the person someone can tell the dark times to. You will cheer on the kiddos as they go through school. You will be the person someone looks up to. You will be the one who helps someone transform into the person they are today! You are not just a hairstylist, YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE!
