I lost my stepfather suddenly and completely unexpectedly on Friday. I cannot wrap my head around it. The grief is immense, and we're just in a constant state of shock and disbelief. He always showed up for me and our family, and I'm very lucky that I have had two wonderful fathers.
I can't believe I got my last tight hug from him on Father's Day. Hold your loved ones close to your heart and tell them that you love and appreciate them whenever you get a chance.

⚠️There will continue to be delays in response time to messages and potentially more appointments impacted. We have a lot to sort through(which will take a significant amount of time), and I ask for your patience and understanding during this incredibly difficult and chaotic time.

👋It's the new year, and a reintroduction is well overdue!
But first...a little reflection and charting a path for 2025.

The last year has been filled with so much joy, opportunities for growth, and learning. I would like to stretch my focus to incorporate more time spent on my business socials. I've been thinking a ton about how I want to proceed with the content I am creating. I have come up with some avenues to serve as a jumping off point that will not only be educational for you but also fulfilling for me. At the end of the day, I am passionate about my artistry and the integrity of my work. My goal is to post what and when it feels right.

😁So, in the interest of reconnecting with you all...
Here's 10 Nuggets about me:

✨️For those who don't already know, my name's Gina, and I've been a hairstylist for the past 14 years. I opened my business off the Fox River in in August of 2020. I specialize in craft haircutting and lived in blonding. A session with me will always include a thorough consultation, customized refinement techniques suited for each service, and one on one focus.
✨️I am neurodivergent which ultimately led me to become an independent business owner so that I may accommodate myself to be the best version of myself that I can be(for me and you).
✨️Naturally, I have many intense interests, and I'm a self-proclaimed "hobby goblin."
✨️I am a huge horror nerd. I consume copious amounts of horror movies and literature(I'm aiming for 50 books this year).
✨️I have been on a curly hair journey for the last year. I've learned so much that has been helpful for not only myself but also to share with all of you. I finally LOVE my curls.
✨️Last year, I got into gardening pretty aggressively, and I'm very excited to start planning for this spring.
✨️You'll frequently hear me talking about various DIY home projects. I've really honed in on some interesting new skills.
✨️I love to create and find that my mind is almost always busting at the seams with ideas. Follow through can sometimes be a struggle, but woe unto the person who tells me I can't.
✨️I love to learn, and I'm fascinated daily.
✨️I love connecting, cackling & vibing with you

I have been asked this question frequently since the announcement, and I thought I would touch more on what gratuity free means. I made this change to give more transparency for you, the client, in knowing what your service will cost. For me, as the stylist, I can know more consistently what my numbers are and not feel the dependence on gratuity to make up for what I need to be charging for my services. Those of you who have made clear that you would like to continue to leave a gratuity, I appreciate your generosity ❤️. Those who wish to follow the new gratuity free structure, I appreciate you and your choice to see me for your hair services ❤️.
