What’s something you do to beat the summer heat where you live?

One thing I like to have on hand is a body cloth that I can wet with my water anytime I’m out and start feeling too sweaty. It’s easy to keep in the glove box and feels like an instant refresh anytime I use it. (Which is usually after hikes, amusement park days…)

Do you use this in your home? I couldn’t stand the synthetic fragrance from it, even before I was concerned about the ingredients in it.

7 years ago a fact like this really didn’t matter to me. I sure didn’t care about speaking up on Earth Day.

What did matter to me was I wanted messes cleaned up fast, and I didn’t want a stinky cotton cloth sitting in my kitchen sink. 🙅🏼 🤢 So I used paper towels like they...well...like they grew on trees. 🤦🏼‍♀️

But here’s the thing, I’m telling you all this because I also really cared about keeping our budget under control while not compromising on the effectiveness of products I used.

In walks Norwex to my life. Nor-what?!? I saw other friends and family cleaning up really big messes really easily 💚 I wanted in on that. Then I saw how much I was saving...no longer needing the reoccurring cost of most of our cleaning products. Yep, you guessed it paper towels were one of those items. In fact our family of 5 now uses less than 1 ... yes that says ONE roll of paper towels! 1 for the whole year!! Prior to Norwex we used 2-4 rolls a week! 👀
The average rolls costs $1.89. (Back then) Think 2 a week...times 52 weeks, that’s $196.56! 🤑 talk about savings!! Even more now with the way things are priced.🤯We went from spending over $200 a year on paper towels to spending less than $3!!!

“I completely care I want to reduce waste.”
Or... “Who cares about being green. But...How in the world do I save that kind of money?!”

Have you tried laying a counter cloth in with your produce to help extend the freshness? This helps pull extra moisture and has backlock to so the cloth stays cleaner longer.

I’ve always been on team kids can do so much more than we give them credit for. Give them opportunities to be a helper. Teach them why it’s important for everyone in the home (even them) to help clean things up as we go. This will do a couple things…
1) It’ll ultimately make your load lighter so you can enjoy more time with your family. 🤩
2) It’ll make it easier for them to find what they are wanting when they want it! ⭐️
3) It teaches skills that will be needed for the rest of their life. 🦉

(First off this dryer only uses wool dryer-balls so it really was just warm air coming out. But what if that wasn’t the case. 😱)

Do they best you can until you know better. When you know better do better. I ditched the toxic “smell good” stuff 7 years ago. If you wonder will it really make a difference?? I’d love to chat about what switching did for my family.

While it is nice to have clothes that feel soft, smell fresh and are free of static cling, many laundry products contain chemicals known to be toxic to people.
