Tony Hatty

Remember paperboys, records, and being outside until someone called you home?

My memoir takes a trip back to the years that shaped me, starting with growing up in Detroit.

Come take that trip with me. 📖

You’re Not Supposed to Be Here: The Kid Who Paid the Paperboy in Bubblegum is Tony Hatty’s heartfelt, funny, and inspiring journey from childhood in Detroit, Catholic school mischief, and teenage adventures to a leap of faith that took him to Houston and changed his life forever.

“You’re not supposed to be here”
A doctor said those words to me after I survived sepsis. They stayed with me—and eventually became the title of my memoir.

Some moments change how you see the rest of your life.
