What makes for a “healthy grow out”?

This client typically gets maintenance done every 8 weeks, but because of vacations and holidays, this visit was pushed to 10 weeks grown out. You would never know. It’s absolute perfection.

What do I look for?
•No tension on her front corners
•Even growth throughout the entire row
•No premature shedding sticking out of the beadwork
•Thread remained taught and wefts did not droop
•No beads have popped out from their pockets
•No buildup or irritation on the scalp

She has worn one row of extensions installed by me for over 4 years, with her scalp & hair always remaining in amazing health. When the install is done properly, your at home care should be easy and maintenance appointments flawless. Even when they need to be extended further out ;)

Grow-outs should be just as photo worthy as the initial install. If you’re ready for a picture-perfect maintenance appointment, send me a DM.
Always here to talk about your options 🖤

60 minute makeover 👌🏼

The “issue” is more common than you’d think…

An influx of sudden hair shed (known as Telogen Effluvium) means you also have the same amount of hair growing back at the same exact time. This can make for hair that feels rather full & thick near the scalp, but ends that seem thinner and wispier than you’ve ever experienced. You want the length back!

The solution is also just as common if you’re one of my clients- ONE ROW☝🏼

Strategically placing one row of extensions can rebuild the weight line and thick ends you previously had. This is an easy way to visually rebalance your cut and give the length back while letting your natural hair continue to grow and fill in. In a few months everything will be caught up and you can either stop wearing extensions (no longer necessary) or continue wearing to keep things feeling as thick as possible. It’s up to you!

Let’s thicken up that hair and bring it back to life! DMs always open to chat about hair 🫶🏻

When a little does a lot 🤩

Many clients contact me thinking they are going to need “a full head of extensions” to get the thick hair they want. The reality is, one impact row can often times make the exact difference they’re looking for.

If you’ve experienced thinning hair from a stressful time or illness, installing one row can thicken things back up and instantly give you back the hair you previously had (or better!) Nothing like a confidence boost in a one hour appointment 😉

If you think one row *might* be the answer you’ve been looking for, send me a DM! Always willing to chat about options!

3 years 🥂 Same passion. New look. Still obsessed with your hair.
What started as a small space and a big dream has evolved into more than just a salon ✨

Three years ago, Method began as a simple idea: create a space where artistry, independence, and great hair could thrive together. What started as a small space and a big dream has grown into something far beyond what we could have imagined — and it’s all thanks to you.

This year, we decided it was time for our look to match our vision. Say hello to Method Salon Collective — a rebrand that reflects who we’ve become: modern, elevated, and refined - built for a community of independent stylists who love what they do.

We’re leaning into the concept that we have built a space of specialties. Each stylist has their niche and has honed their skilled accordingly. We are able to work seamlessly together, or offer a bespoke transformation independently. We are a true collective of specialists.

We couldn’t be more grateful for the guests and the collective that brought us here. Here’s to three years — and to the many more ahead. 🖤

POV: realizing we are approaching my salon’s third anniversary & that the last “about me” post was, well, 3 years ago 🤷🏼‍♀️ 🤦🏼‍♀️

I typically like to write a well structured and eloquently worded self essay, but honestly I’m exhausted so here’s bullet points to get to know me better…

• I LOVE WORKING. Literally love it. The salon is my cultivated calm happy place

• Two kids, age 9 (Elloree) & 6 (Brooks) who DO NOT STOP which is most likely why I love being able to go to work 🤪

•Married for 15 years to and I honestly don’t know how because I put him through a lot of s**t. He’s a saint.

• GIFTS is my love language 🫶🏻

• Enneagram 3 - The Achiever. I’m never NOT planning a project or making a list.

• I’ll listen to anything, but early 2000s gangster rap fuels me. Referred to by some as a “Gangsta Princess” 👸🏼

• Current pet peeve - people who literally drag their feet. Pick up your feet! Flip flop season is the worst 🤦🏼‍♀️

• Champagne 🥂 or Coffee ☕️ and no in-between. Except the occasional Baja Blast, of course.

• I’m pretty sarcastic & authentic and some people don’t like that, but that’s ok. I’ve learned not to care. You do you✌🏻

• I only do extensions. Damn good ones.

• Aries ♈️ to a fault

• Perfectionist. I know there’s no such thing, but why not try?

Any questions? Just ask. And don’t talk s**t. 🖤

The class might have been an overpriced bust, but the company, food, accommodations & shopping never disappoint 👌🏼

Extensions shouldn’t look like extensions 🧐

There are so many things to think about when taking into consideration the ex*****on of a flawless install. My top 3?

⭐️using enough hair
⭐️cutting enough hair
⭐️using enough colors

Let’s break this down:
1️⃣ If you don’t install enough wefts, you won’t be able to remove enough hair. I know this sounds crazy, but we often have to install a little bit extra hair than what is necessary so that when we cut the shape and detail the look, we aren’t suddenly back where we started and wishing we had installed more grams of hair. Yes, more wefts=more cost, but it makes a difference in the believability of the look.

2️⃣Partnered up with number one, not cutting into the wefts and giving them enough movement is a dead giveaway that you’re wearing extensions. You know what I mean, those wefts that just hang at one length with no movement like the heavy dupioni silk drapes at grandma’s house. We want layers with mobility and hair that moves with you. You have to cut away more hair than you think to allow this to happen.

3️⃣Rarely will you find me using only one color on a head. Even if it’s only one row, I’ll typically use at least two colors. The more colors you use, the more natural it will look. Our natural hair has multiple tones (and textures) throughout it and it’s important to replicate that into anything that is being added in. Maybe you have a brighter face framing with your color? You need to bring that into the extensions as well. Using the right colors, in the right places and in the right quantities, brings it all together. And don’t forget customizing the roots and tones 😉

Of course there’s 628742 more things I could go on about, but these matter the most to me.
Agree or disagree? I’d love to know what you value when going into a fresh install!

A whisper gains more attention than a shout 🤫

I knew this was going to be fun. And drastic.
She visited me for a consult wearing 22” Barbie blonde K-tips (swipe) and I told her that her hair was wearing her, not her wearing the hair. I wanted to bring it down a notch.

She couldn’t have agreed more and we were on the same page on what to change…
👉🏼wear a more natural and manageable length
👉🏼use less hair, better matching her natural density
👉🏼add a ton of dimension for more natural color
👉🏼use extensions for color so we use less chemicals
👉🏼switch methods so her hair and scalp could heal

It took 8 hours 😯

👉🏼2.5 hours to remove poorly installed kTips (again, no method is bad, the artists are poorly (or not) trained)
👉🏼2.5 hours to install and cut 2 new rows of extensions
👉🏼3 hours for full color work, blowout and style.

We finished with natural looking extensions that mimic the color of her natural tones into the length and have much more movement and believability. No more heavy, too long extensions wreaking havoc on her natural hair.

Is your hair wearing you or are you wearing your hair? More isn’t always better. Send me a DM and we can chat about your best options 🤍

If it’s not comfortable, it’s not correct ‼️

One of my biggest irks is hearing an extension artist tell their clients that the first day or two will be uncomfortable and to “just take some Tylenol.” 🚨

No matter the method, if the extensions aren’t comfortable, then they’re not installed correctly or safely. If something is feeling too tight or causing discomfort, it’s most likely causing damage to your scalp.

Being meticulous might take a little longer, but I assure you that clean sectioning, proper placement, and streamlined stitching will add up to a comfortable wear and healthy grow out. Details matter. 🧐

Do your extensions hurt? Is your grow out uneven? Are you experiencing premature shedding? Things like this could mean something isn’t quite right. Send me a DM and let’s chat about options to get you the healthiest hair possible 🤍

Stress induced hair loss doesn’t stand a chance 🙅🏼‍♀️

Between losing a family member, catching c*v!d multiple times, and irregular life events, the past 3 years have wrecked havoc on her system and she lost a ton of her natural hair. It was finally growing back nicely, but 8 inches of thickness near the scalp and 8 inches of thinned out ends wasn’t the look we desired.

Installing one row of extensions was the perfect solution to help fill in the ends and help everything grow in “incognito” while being worn for the next 9-12 months.

If stress has noticeably thinned out Your natural hair, send me a DM and let’s see what solutions we can customize for you! One row is such a dream maker!

Makeover without the damage 🪄

Blonde blindness happens to the best of us, and most of the time it brings damage along with it. This beauty decided she wanted to stop bleaching her hair and get it to grow healthy, so extensions to the rescue and the assist!

Constant bleaching resulted in a lot of breakage to her natural hair, often referred to as a “chemical haircut”. So we cut off the dead ends til healthy and then followed with a full two row install, which will create a sort of “insulation” and disguise for her natural hair as she continues to treat it great and grow it longer.

Taking into consideration she wants to stop coloring her hair, we needed to bring more of her natural dimension into her ends to make everything cohesive and break up the solid blonde. We used 4 different colors of wefts and utilized multiple tones to make everything meld seamlessly.

Ready to ditch the over processed blonde and grow some healthy hair again? Send me a DM and we can chat about the possible options!
