Please join us in welcoming Lewhatt Kidane as the newest board member of the LTHYW Foundation Inc! A proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University (Class of 2023), Lewhatt has continued to grow gaining experience working with leading beauty and tech brands. Her journey with Love The Hair You Wear has been just as impactful. She joined us as an intern in 2023 and has since played a key role in supporting and helping manage our programming since that time. Because of her consistency, leadership, and genuine belief in our mission, it was only natural to invite her to join the board. At this point, she’s family. We are so excited to see her continue to grow and pour into this community in an even greater way. Please help us welcome Lewhatt to the LTHYW Foundation board 🖤

2025 was a year of growth, grit, and grace for Love the Hair You Wear. We hosted three meaningful events this year, including our 10-year anniversary celebration, which still feels surreal to say out loud 🥹 We returned to A&T for the fourth year in a row in November, and in October we hosted a campus pop-up to continue spreading the word and building community there.

It was not all smooth. This year came with real challenges. We did not have the same level of sponsorship support we had in prior years yet, we were able to raise more money in scholarships than we ever have before, won’t be do it!!

We were surrounded by incredible special guests, supporters, students, partners, and volunteers who showed up again and again. The mission stayed bigger than the moment, and we kept pushing forward.

To everyone who supported Love the Hair You Wear in any way this year, whether you donated, attended, shared a post, told a friend, or simply encouraged us when things felt heavy, thank you. You are part of this story.
