In case anyone was wondering if your Esthetician really does think about skincare all the time, the answer is, YES! 😆😆
As I was sitting here this morning drinking my coffee and listening to the birds chattering, I was just thinking about one of our products, Vital Quench.
Of course, one of the main benefits to this product is the hyaluronic acid, which I think everyone pretty much understands at this point. It’s the molecule that pulls moisture from the air into your skin and holds it there. But to say that’s the only benefit to using this product would be a huge injustice. The main two hero ingredients that are working together WITH hyaluronic acid to boost your skin functions are, arginine and EGF (epidermal growth factor)
Arginine is an amino acid that naturally occurs in the body and is a building block of proteins, including collagen. It can support wound healing by helping repair damaged skin while also promoting collagen production, which can improve firmness and elasticity. But wait! There’s more! Arginine also hydrates the skin by supporting the skin barrier and reducing moisture loss, calms irritation and can be beneficial for sensitive or compromised skin. It even has antioxidant properties that help protect against environmental stress. What a little superhero!
And then, it’s buddy EGF comes in to signal protein naturally found in the skin that tells skin cells to grow, repair, and regenerate. Cool, right?

This morning I came across the images from this photo shoot from three years ago now! Seems like yesterday and it also seems like I’ve lived three lifetimes since then! Looking at these images surprised me because I feel like I actually look younger now. Or maybe it’s just that my spirit feels more youthful inside me now. Despite being in the beauty industry, I’ve actually never done any extensive beauty treatments. No Botox, no fillers, not even micro needling. I tried microdermabrasion years ago and it was terrible for my broken capillary prone skin. I’m not against any of those things. Everyone can make the choices that are right for their skin, but for me, I’ve always resonated with a really great at home ritual. Using my own hands to do facial massage, cold rollers, a good face oil, and a regular daily routine have been a part of my self-care regimen for as long as I can remember. And you might laugh, and it might sound a little woo-woo, but I speak love to my skin. Hey, I do it to my plants outside because I do NOT have a green thumb and it works for them!
I have such a sweet, tender spot for past me, an excitement for future me and an acceptance of current me.
In this season, I love selling a brand of skincare that celebrates PRO aging. Not anti-aging. It feels so much better to be working with my skin’s natural cycles rather than fighting against it all the time. That mentality feels exhausting to me! So yes, I use my daily skincare babies, I tell them “I love you, go and do your work!” And I look at my crows feet with love for all the laughter they represent!

Part Two:
So here’s where it gets good. Really good! I knew if I was going to dive fully into a new skincare line, I had to try it on myself and really love it. I had a looong list of requirements and as I got into using them daily, I was amazed how one after another every single box was ticked off. I started to get really excited! And what happened next shocked me.
All of a sudden I WAS shouting the products from the rooftops, I was showing up online every day. Every day! That was unheard of for me! Every day I found more things that I wanted to talk about, more reasons to be excited about this brand. But excitement about the products wasn’t enough, as I knew all too well from my previous experience. What I needed was a business partnership that would make selling EASY. And here was Atmosphera pouring into their affiliates, giving us all of the branding information, all of the product education, and even better, a dedicated affiliate link to make the sharing process so much more streamlined. Immediately the weight of having to pre-buy large stock orders diminished. I could keep a few things on my shelf or I could just as easily talk about the products in service and share a link to my client in the same breath.
All of a sudden, all of the difficult processes I had experienced for years became easy! And it changed the way I showed up for my clients. It changed the excitement level I had for talking about products. Because I didn’t have to worry about how long it would take to create the products and ship them to me, I didn’t have to worry about all the rising shipping costs etc etc and turns out I’m really good at shouting out the amazing things my friends do from the rooftops!
And the more important lesson in this whole process was that I found my voice. I found the confidence to speak loudly on things that I’m passionate about. The journey was not for nothing, it was for EVERYTHING! I always had the passion, now I have the voice and the tools too. Let’s gooooo!

Story time: Let’s take it back to 2020. Part 1

I was getting ready to launch my very own skincare line, Bright Skincare. After years of selling other skincare brands, I could never find something I truly loved and believed in, so I decided to create my own.

After searching countless private-label brands, I finally found a Canadian lab whose ingredients aligned with my values. The packaging was beautiful, and I knew I had found “the one.”

But creating a skincare line from scratch was a lot more than creating products. I had to build a logo, a brand, marketing materials, informational handouts, sample jars—and I had to be the one generating excitement around it all.

The challenge? I was barely visible on social media. It never felt natural to shout my own name from the rooftops. So here I was with beautiful products I believed in, but very little knowledge of how to get them into people’s hands.

I learned a difficult lesson: selling yourself is hard.

My clients loved the products. My family loved the products. I loved the products. But I sold them timidly because it felt vulnerable to share something I had created.

And then there were the logistics. Shipping across borders took 3 weeks, inventory was a constant balancing act, and large minimum orders meant thousands of dollars resting on my shelves while I hoped I could sell them.
The products weren’t the problem.
The way I was doing business was.

Today I got a question about pigmentation/skin discolorations and if Atmosphera skincare can help with that.

Our vitamin C serum, Brighten Complex will help lighten existing pigmentation and help protect against future occurrences whether the issue stems from sun exposure or hormonal fluctuations. However, any tiny bit of sun exposure brings out pigmentation that’s already there and will bring out more in the future. Today was my last day in my S. Pleasantburg location. With so much gratitude, I sit here and say goodbye to my sweet, beautiful treehouse room. Thank you, dear room for holding me so lovingly this past year. What a respite it has been. I’m so thankful that I got to watch the trees outside this window change through all four seasons, and I changed right along with them. What a lovely year of memories I have had here! Instead of asking, whyyyy do I have to move yet again, I am choosing instead to give thanks that once again a place has opened up for me at exactly the right time.
