We’re students to the school of life and the challenges we face are the tests of knowledge we have acquired. Everyone operating on a different grade level, ability, and desire. Much of what we learn is based on past knowledge of subjects we’ve studied and how well our comprehension was. We don’t pass until the outcome of the test reflects that we’re ready for what awaits at the next level.

From an early age we learn to look to others for guidance, to teach us. As social creatures, critical thinking however becomes harder the more we face the fear of social rejection. Challenges cause us to abandon ourselves and question the validity of our own thinking. Values, morals, and beliefs shaped by outside influences rather than our own heart-centered compass.

A pattern in my life has recently emerged in my conscious and I realize the significance that it has played, a pattern woven into my destiny even before I was born. Choices made by others that directly impact how I have to move and the choices I have to make…between a rock and a hard place.

In that space is where we often shrink, where we allow our emotions to take precedent, and search outside of ourselves for the answers. A constant practice to consciously center and feel our own internal alignment becomes hard…until we break the pattern.

Gonna miss this crew for the next few days, but I got a date with Mickey Mouse.

I love all my brides but there is a special place in my heart for the “non traditional” brides. The ones with the bright hair, tattooed body art, the ones who say go bold!

What an honor to be able to get this beautiful couple and their party ready for their big day. Their love story is the sweetest.

Wedding season this year has been filled with some of the most beautiful souls inside and out and reminds me to be grateful for the small part I get to play in creating a piece of memory they will cherish for a lifetime. 💕

A few years ago I read a book, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦, that really had a profound impact on me. I was starting to embark on a deep intimate knowing of myself, a spiritual journey to the inner depths of my soul. This book sparked a curiosity for me that said, I will someday take this physical route too, when the time is right.

I had that calling that said, 𝕀𝕥’𝕤 𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖, around September last year. I wanted to resist the call, but something felt right deep within. Shortly after, my world came crumbling down around me and I knew then why the call was so strong and I booked my flight.

There’s an inner guidance that I’ve been searching for, a clarity about the next phase of my life that has been fuzzy for a few years now. I’m not sure what I expect to gain except for the integration back to self, an internal compass of intuition and self-reliance.

I leave to do a 100km hike along the Camino de Santiago in Spain just a few short days after my graduation…solo and with only a minimalistic amount of things that I can personally carry. Nothing is planned in advance. This is my attempt to regain a primitive understanding within myself with only the bare minimum essentials and the grit to figure it out day by day.

The timing of everything couldn’t be anymore symbolic…my graduation date moved and fell on my 14yr dating anniversary with my wife, I leave out on Mother’s Day, and this trip falls during our 7yr wedding anniversary. Our relationship this past year has been tested more than I could have ever imagined and ironically the Camino is called “The Way of Forgiveness”, something I didn’t know until just recently.

I’ll try to update stories along the way, but plan to be in the moment and one with myself. I’m nervous & excited and can’t wait to share what newfound introspection lies on the other side.

During this time, my responses to appointment requests will be limited and I will do my best to respond on my arrival back stateside. Thank you all for your support & love. 💕
