Jill Pondillo — Currently sees Summer Morgan

Q — How long has Jill been your client?

Summer Morgan — 12 years

Q — Why did you choose to highlight Jill?

Summer Morgan — I chose to highlight Jill because I admire her for the career path that she chose, which happens to be engineering, and also her dedication to her family, especially her two boys.

Interview with Jill Pondillo

Q — How long have you lived in Greenville?

Jill — I moved here in 2004 from Northeast Ohio.

Q — Other states or countries lived in?

Jill — Besides Ohio, none! It was my first move as an adult.

Q — How do you stay grounded and take care of yourself?

Jill — I think the number one thing would be working out. It sets the tone. I work from home and since it's the summertime my kids are home, so I have to be sane to do it all. Q — Who has inspired you the most?

Jill — My husband is super inspirational. I've known him since he was 8 years old. We were high school sweethearts and we've been together since we were 15. Married for 18 years now. He's the smartest person I know and he always wants the best for me.

Q — What is your best advice or encouragement for women?

Jill — Don't try to be everything. Your mental health is the most important thing. Be in the moment and be great at the thing that you choose to put first.

Q — What are your go-to salon services?

Jill — Summer and I have been together for a very long time so she always leads me in the right direction. Of course my extensions and I've had them for a long time as well. Brows are always great and color is important because I've been gray since I was 23!

Q — What is your favorite thing about The Beautiful Co?

Jill — It's the thing I do for myself every 6 weeks, that's outside of the home. Also my relationship with Summer and the conversation. This environment is a wonderful environment, everyone is happy and laughing. Great stories and great tea.

Q — What would you do with one extra hour in your day?

Jill — Maybe sleep? I try to do seven hours, but I could probably use 8.

Q — Mountains or the beach?

Jill — Beach

Q — Savory or sweet?

Jill — Savory

Q — On stage or in the audience?

Jill — Now I'm probably more in the audience, but I used to be on the stage. I'm happy to sit back and observe.

Q — Win the lottery or find your soulmate?

Jill — I already have my soul mate, so I'll take the lottery!

Thank you Jill!!

Kelly Castellani — Currently sees Emily Wilson and Jessica Heckman

Q — How long has Kelly been your client?

Emily Wilson — Almost 4 years!

Jessica Heckman — 9 Years

Q — Why did you choose to highlight Kelly?

Emily Wilson — Kelly is important to me for so many reasons. One is our beautiful friendship and the way she loves me!!! She has been a rock in my life and has constantly encouraged me!! My time with her fills my cup!! She is such a bright shining star and a ray of sunshine in my life!! The way she treats others and how she is trying to change the world and help so many woman is so inspiring to me.

Jessica Heckman — Kelly’s life story inspires me greatly. She has persevered through so much in her life. Her faith and love for others is so contagious. She makes me want to love others better and see that regardless of what someone has gone through hope, healing and love can be the next chapter for them.

Interview with Kelly Castellani

Q — How long have you lived in Greenville?

Kelly — I was born in Tucson, AZ, but I've lived in the Greenville area since I was 3 years old, which is 50 years. I went to Columbia, SC for college and Charleston, SC for the summers.

Q — Other states or countries lived in?

Kelly — None!

Q — How do you stay grounded and take care of yourself?

Kelly — Physically, I try to eat whole foods and enjoy them. Exercise and weight training are a big part of my life. I also do cold therapy, saunas, and infrared light therapy for physical health. For mental health, I spend time in devotions, reading the Bible, and focusing on finding my purpose. The spiritual aspect is huge for me. I try to pay attention to how I feel and my emotions, and especially *why* I feel a certain way in order to address it. As you age, having healthy friendships is important. Having the right people in your life for the right seasons, and striking that balance between giving and receiving. Our mental and physical health are both a continual journey. Instead of just treading water, taking the time to slow down and figure out where we are and also where we are going. It's not a "one and done" thing, we have to keep reassessing our path and purpose.

Q — Who has inspired you the most?

Kelly — Definitely my husband, his grace and patience. His ethics and maturity and how he loves people well around him. He treats everybody fairly. I also admire Jess! How she sows her faith and her love into so many women and into this business. I admire the positive atmosphere she has made to meet women where they are and encourage them to grow. I have so many friends that inspire me, all for different reasons. And of course, my mom, because she gave me life and spent her life trying to make mine better.

Q — What is your best advice or encouragement for women?

Kelly — I hope everyone develops some type of relationship with God, so they can know their worth and value. Having an understanding of your individual value helps you to set healthy boundaries and avoid the pitfall of comparing yourself to others. Reframing potential negatives into gratitude and appreciation changes the way you look at the world. Try to always lean into encouragement over competitiveness!

Q — What are your go-to salon services?

Kelly — My root touch-up for grays, hair extensions and eyelashes! Also my talks with Jess.

Q — What is your favorite thing about The Beautiful Co?

Kelly — The women here! And the love that I feel when I'm here.

Q — What would you do with one extra hour in your day?

Kelly — I would find someone to do something for and focus on giving.

Q — Physical book or digital book?

Kelly — Physical

Q — Best quality in a friend: honesty or loyalty?

Kelly — Loyalty

Q — Mountains or the beach?

Kelly — Beach

Q — Savory or sweet?

Kelly — Sweet

Q — On stage or in the audience?

Kelly — In the audience

Q — Win the lottery or find your soulmate?

Kelly — I feel like I've done both!

Thank you Kelly!!

**NEW CLIENT HIGHLIGHT SERIES**

Join us as we highlight some inspirational women who we've had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with as they sit in our styling chairs and lash beds.

Lisa Free — Currently sees Taylor Mosa

Q — How long has Lisa been your client?

Taylor Mosa — Almost a year!

Q — Why did you choose to highlight Lisa?

Taylor Mosa — Lisa is such a positive shining light. She's also been through so much, including 6 brain surgeries and surviving a rare form of leukemia. She's one of my reminders that going through difficult things in life can give us a different and brighter perspective, and that gives me hope. I feel so blessed that I get to have her in my chair and that I’ve gotten to know who she is and her story.

Interview with Lisa Free

Q — How long have you lived in Greenville?

Lisa — I've been living in Greenville on and off since 2012. We've been here full time since the end of 2018.

Q — Other states or countries lived in?

Lisa — We've lived in 5 states. This is our 22nd home that we've lived in. But we're here permanently now! We always thought we'd stay near the coast, but fell in love with Greenville.

Q — How do you stay grounded and take care of yourself?

Lisa — I'm retired now, so it's easier. I had a bone marrow transplant 10 years ago, following 6 brain surgeries. Parts of that were hard, but made it easier to figure out how to stay grounded. I always try to go back to that. They didn't think I would survive the bone marrow transplant, so every night before I went to sleep, I had started trying to say everything I wanted to say that day. I tried not to leave anything left undone. Life still gets in the way sometimes, but I try.

Q — Who has inspired you the most?

Lisa — There's so many different people, so I don't want to leave anyone out!

Q — What is your best advice or encouragement for women?

Lisa — Try to slow down a little bit. It's so hard to live in the moment. Women with work, kids, households, pets and all of the demands, give yourself a big break. Life is way too short! You don't get to take anything with you, and that has helped me focus on relationships above all.

Q — What are your go-to salon services?

Lisa — I promised myself that I wouldn't let my hair go gray. My plan is to be 80 and have my hair highlighted. I had no hair, eyebrows, or eyelashes for two years, and it hasn't come back the same. Hair extensions do help!

Q — What would you do with one extra hour in your day?

Lisa — I would spend more time outside with my two dogs and my husband or my grandkids.

Q — Physical book or digital book?

Lisa — I love a physical book, but digital is easier to travel with!

Q — Best quality in a friend: honesty or loyalty?

Lisa — Honesty.

Q — Mountains or the beach?

Lisa — Live in the mountains, visit the beach.

Q — Savory or sweet?

Lisa — Savory.

Q — On stage or in the audience?

Lisa — In the audience!

Q — Win the lottery or find your soulmate?

Lisa — Find my soulmate.

Thank you Lisa!!

We are so excited and proud to announce that we are adding lash extensions to our services at The Beautiful Co. Salon! We have been working with Amber Marquez of Venice Lash for over a year in preparation to take all of her astounding experience and skill combined with our obsession with client experience to create something truly special. Alexandra Reyes, Brooke Drake, and Emily Wilson from the Venice Lash team will all be joining us and will begin lashing at The Beautiful Co. on Sept 15th. We want to thank Amber for her dedication to lashes over the last decade and we bless her in this new season. We all get to benefit from her courage, and you can begin to book online with us today!

We are so excited to officially re-open on May 18th! We’ve been working around the clock to make this process as smooth as possible, and to make sure that everyone’s experience and safety needs are being considered.

Many of our stylists have full schedules booked well before the temporary closing. We will be confirming those appointments with you since so much has changed. Our next priority is to take care of guests who have had appointments cancelled during this season. If your appointment was cancelled, you are automatically on a waiting list, and we will be contacting you if we haven’t already. Our Online Booking will remain closed while we are working through the waiting list. However, if you have visited the salon before, please don’t hesitate to reach out by phone or text to request an appointment.

Along with all of our routine cleaning and sanitation, we will be taking additional precautions based on official guidelines.

☑️ All Team Members will be wearing masks. If you have a mask, please bring and wear it.
☑️ We will be taking temperatures of all Team Members and guests.
☑️ If you are bringing someone with you to your appointment, we ask that they wait outside the salon during your service.
☑️ We will be limiting our waiting room to 4 people at once.
☑️ Good news! Our Styling Stations have always allowed 6 feet between clients.
☑️ We will not be using our center Shampoo Station. The outside stations are 6 feet apart.
☑️ Use your card if you can, but we will also accept cash. We have gloves and we know how to use them!
☑️ All common surfaces will be disinfected on an hourly schedule or more often.
☑️ We have installed MERV 13 Air Filters to continually clean the air.
☑️ We will continue to serve drinks in to-go cups.

There are many more items we could list here, so if you have specific questions, feel free to reach out!

Thank you for your patience and your understanding in this season. We know that the salon is a special place for so many people who have reached out and we can’t wait to start making new memories with you.

To our Beautiful Community: We are making the difficult decision to temporarily close the The Beautiful Co. during this public health crisis. We will no longer be seeing clients in the salon beginning March 30th. The health and safety of our clients, team, families, and community is non-negotiable for us. It’s also become clear that the leaderships’ position in Greenville is for business models to cease or modify operations where social distancing is difficult or not possible. We absolutely honor this and it’s our heart to stand with our community in this way. We will do everything we can to support all the small businesses and families being affected and we are so thankful for your prayers and support during this season. We pray that Greenville continues to be a city of contagious hope and generosity. We'll be posting and reaching out directly to all of our clients about when we plan on reopening our doors, but in the meantime please stay healthy and safe. We are already looking forward to seeing and serving you again as soon as possible. We love you all! - Jessica & The Beautiful Co. Salon Team
