Unpopular Opinion : my main goal and focus in hair is NOT about timing or getting faster becoming a ~quick stylist~ in order to get more guests in..

My goal is always about giving you quality work. The industry has CHANGED baby - you are paying for a // custom //color. Which takes time! No two heads are the same & your color work is unique to YOU!

My most asked question : “how many guests do you see in a day?”

Typically 2/3 : majority of my clientele is under the age of 35 atm & you babies like a big transformation. No complaints from me though - give me the challenge - keep my brain juices flowingggg.

Does your stylist cancel your appointment on purpose?

The answer to that question is NO! Any seasoned stylist with a full book does everything in their power to not have to cancel or reschedule their guests.
1. We know it’s heartbreaking to our guests who have been looking forward to it and also have busy schedules.
2. It’s a complete pain in the a** trying to get them back into the schedule in a timely manner.
3. No work means no pay.
No, your stylist cannot cancel on other guests just to get you in sooner. No, your stylist cannot work 12 hour days for 2 weeks straight just to burn the candle at both ends and end up sick.

If you are the clientele that absolutely cannot wait then your best bet is to find a newer stylist, one where hey if she gets sick her books are open and available as soon as it has passed.

Now if I am going to be completely honest. I started behind the chair at 17 years old, sometimes I partied a little too hard the night before and would cancel from being ill the next morning. It did not matter to me at the time. I had no car payment, no rent, no groceries to buy, no monthly insurance, no medical bills & no animals to feed. No bills! I had an empty schedule & the work I produced showed it. Now I am not saying I am some angel.. if I have a few too many glasses of wine the night before, I accept my fate & handle my consequences like a d*mn adult because having to cancel on guests is not fun or easy.

I guess what I am getting at is just be understanding when your service provider has to cancel. He or she is not maliciously canceling on you because they don’t want to do your hair (unless you suck, js). I can guarantee your stylist is going to have 3 meltdowns trying to figure out the time and space to put you as well as still afford to live.
