This video hit me in the chest.
Because what she named, the performative love, the delayed support, the praise without participation, is something too many Black women business owners live through in real time.
In her case, the support came too late.
She is no longer here.
And that reality should shake us.
I’m still here, gratefully.
Still alive.
Still building.
Still creating experiences.
Still investing in others.
Still believing in community, even when it hasn’t fully believed back in me.
And I’ve experienced this same neglect.
People critique prices and inventory without showing up.
People say they’re proud but don’t like, comment, share, or shop.
People whose businesses I intentionally supported for years, spending money with them while I lived out of state and visited home, and referring others, have never stepped foot in mine since I moved back and opened this business.
What I’ve learned is this.
You cannot grow what you refuse to support.
You cannot ask for more while giving less.
And community cannot be symbolic. It has to be practiced.
I’m sharing this because I still have breath.
I still have a chance to make a difference.
And I’m choosing to tell the truth while I’m alive, not be celebrated after I’m gone.
Support Black women now.
Not when it’s convenient.
Not when it’s trendy.
Not when it’s too late.
Support is action. Everything else is just noise.
This is an invitation, not an indictment.
——
If this made you uncomfortable, then the shots I made were at YOU. That’s right, I even unblocked some of yall, just hoping that maybe you see this and it provokes you to do something.
Mattice asked people to support her while she was here and too many of y’all waited until she wasn’t.
She built community, all while fighting a world that fights against black women every day.. especially black disabled women.
Her husband is still here. Her family is still here. Her expenses are still real. Her fundraiser still matters.
If you ever said you loved her, supported her, will miss her, that Black Lives Matter to you.. this is where you prove that was real.
Donate. Share her fundraiser. She deserved better than this. Support the man who loved her so that she could be herself.
I better see some action. Im watching, and I may have come as a lamb this time, but I’m coming as a dragon the next. Tacoma business owners, if you need ideas of how you can help, please dm me.

Yall… I tried to make an AI video to promote our Blackout Friday event and baby… the AI version of me looks like she downloaded herself from the Dollar Tree. 🤣💀
She got the voice, the vibe, the energy all wrong, but guess what… the event is VERY real and happening TOMORROW from 9-3 at Dimensions. The real me will be there in full culture, curves, and consciousness. Not that glitchy avatar.
So pull up, support Black vendors, shop natural and organic hair and skin care, grab your sea moss, candles, oils, mystery boxes, and catch the vibe AI could never duplicate.
Come see the real Dee, not the discount hologram. 💜✨🤣
Tap in, like, share, follow and tell everybody to slide through. 💜🛍️✨
Listen… even my AI twin had to pop out because the ancestors said, “Run it up sis, we got work to do.” 😂💜✨
I told Sora, “Make me fine, make me fly, make me Dimensions,” and she understood the assignment. And now we outside with Blackout Friday energy. Vendors. Vibes. Vision. All Black Everything.
If we spending ANYTHING this holiday season, let it be with US. Black creators. Black makers. Black visionaries. Black community.
Pull up this Friday 11/28 at Dimensions Barber and Beauty Supply
1136 Franklin Ave, Gretna LA
9am to 3pm
Clothing, crafts, food, fun, community and a whole vibe.
Come experience the magic and don’t leave my AI clone standing there by herself. Tap in. Share this. Bring a friend. Slide through. Let’s circulate these Black dollars like we mean it. 🖤✊🏾💜✨
Why am I stuck at 599 like I am waiting on the last cousin to show up to the cookout? 😭😂 One more follower and I am at 600. Stop playing in my face and hit that button.
My ancestors over here pacing like, ‘Chile… if this baby don’t hit 600 TODAY…’ So do us all a favor. Tap follow before they start visiting folks in their dreams asking questions 😭🕯️✨
If you already follow, like this, comment something, and share it so your people can tap in too. Support a Black-owned business that is actually building community, creating culture, and showing up every day.
Run it up fam. Let’s hit 600 with some Black joy and petty laughter. 💜✊🏾🔥
😂💜🔥
We have 2 spots available for interested vendors. Call 713-502-0403 for more info.
Today reminded me why I built Dimensions in the first place. I opened the shop for a friend and her niece who flew in for the holidays, and they got their own personal shopping day. No pressure. No crowds. Just joy, comfort, and Black owned luxury the way we deserve. 🛍️🖤✨
She left with bags full of goodies for her trip back to Houston… soaps, hair color, braiding hair, jewelry, accessories, cocoa butter… everything she needed to feel beautiful and cared for. 💜💛
This is what community looks like. This is what circulating our dollars looks like. This is what it means to create spaces where our people feel seen, valued, and supported.
As we step into Blackout season, let’s move with intention. Let’s shop Black. Let’s invest in the stores that pour back into us. Pull up on Black Friday for Blackout Friday: Vendors Vibes Vision All Black Everything from 9AM to 3PM at Dimensions. 🖤🔥
Save this. Share this. Tell somebody. Our survival and our success depend on us choosing each other.
Dimensions is the plug.
