Ecclesiastes 3:1 says "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"
As I sit here writing this message I know that this is true in EVERY situation. It seems that my "season" for being a nail tech is coming to a close. On April 25th my doctor said it was time to put up my polish. I have 2 things going on in my body that i have been battling for 5 years. One is the muscles between the base of my skull to the middle of my back are stretched out with little strength left to do what i need them to do. This comes from not doing the exercises and stretching that i should have been doing to keep me strong throughout the 10 amazing years of getting to help people feel good and have beautiful nails. Turns out 9+ hours everyday that I worked with little to no breaks in the day, while being good for my spirit, wasn't good for my body. OOPS! Second is that I have degenerative disk disease in my neck that is causing a slough of problems including neuropathy (pain and numbness) in my hands that seems to be getting progressively worse which is what made me go to the doctor in April. I AM stubborn but when my doc said that if I don't stop now I could be crippled in as little as 2 years I had to open my eyes. I'm not even 40 yet!! So on June 30th 2016 Foxxy Fingers will be closing the doors for the very last time. There are so many emotions that come along with this decision. Great sadness, as I love what I do SOOO much! Who knew being good at something would be a bad thing... RIGHT?!? I definitely feel like I am starting into a bit of a mourning process... some days are better than others. I will miss my clients who have been such a HUGE part of my life for SOOO long that I can no longer call them just "clients" they are nothing less than my friends. But the greatest two feelings I have right now are pride and gratefulness. I have been allowed to reach people doing something I LOVE to do for nearly 10 whole years! While I don't fit the typical beauty mold people have been AMAZING and soooo loyal to me ... I NEVER expected to gain all the love and deep satisfaction that I have gained working in this industry. It has been so exciting to watch my junior high girls grow through high school and now are successful mom's, wives, and career women. I feel like i know all of your families through the stories I have heard over the years. I've gotten to "watch" children be born, marriages happen, grandchildren graduate and the many triumphs my clients and their families have gone through. As with the scripture above there have also been some seasons of sadness that I have tried to support my clients through... cancer, sickness, divorces, deaths, and broken relationships but I have also watched the incredible strength God has given these beautiful women to get through these things... you have NOOOOO idea how proud I am to watch silently cheering from the sidelines as these people conquer and heal! I have had the joy of working beside some of the most amazing women I have ever known and have learned so much from EACH person that God has placed in my life... I am BEYOND blessed!!! So even though I am emotional about this choice, I have faith that "when God closes one door he opens a window" this is not the end of the road for me just a new chapter. The wods "THANK YOU" are not NEARLY big enough for what I want to say to all of you... my life has truly been BLESSED because of you all. Please keep in touch from time to time and let me know how you all are doing.
