I gym so I can look like this in a dress 😚
It’s been a minute ⏱️
What I ate this week as a gym girlie with endometriosis and without a thyroid 🙋🏻♀️
Since you truly are what you eat and food is the BEST medicine, I’ve been pretty focused.
I stick with whole and unprocessed food. Right now, I’m keeping my protein, fats, and fiber higher (just experimenting with how I feel). It’s really been about finding what foods are triggers for me and avoiding them.
Triggers for me are:
➡️ gluten
➡️ dairy
➡️ alcohol (not all, but I’ve cut back)
➡️ sugar (and I love sweets 😩)
➡️ raw garlic and onion
➡️ honestly so many veggies
➡️ certain fruits
So, my list is pretty small, but eating things that don’t agree with me just isn’t worth it anymore. So, I’m ok with it.
This is what is working for me. In no way am I suggesting you should do the same.
This is the honesty the healthiest I’ve been in awhile. I’m eating to fuel my body, rather than starving it to look a certain way. I’m strong in the gym. I’m not crashing mid day. I’m sleeping well. Allowing proper rest and recovery.
This is healthy 💜
Food is fuel. Don’t get it confused. The body you’re trying to achieve, doesn’t come from lifting light, being a cardio bunny, and eating like a bird.
I promise 🫶🏼

Why the scale doesn’t define being healthy.
Picture on the left is current.
Picture on the right was exactly one year ago.
I weighed more in the picture on the right. Today, I’m 4lbs under this time last year. Body fat percentage is the same, yet I’m much tighter on the right.
If we only used the scale to define being healthy, we would be so misguided.
My body is currently going through inflammation, water retention, and an imbalance in my gut and hormones.
I’m down 8lbs (all water) and visibly seeing the inflammation decrease. But there’s still a long road ahead of me.
Weighing less doesn’t mean you’re healthy or on track with your goals. Stay off the scales if you let a number define you. Take pictures. Base how your clothes fit.
Last year was the best I’ve ever felt and looked. I’m taking all the proper measures to get myself back to a healthy state.
You got this too! 💪💜

Taking a step back from the gym for gut and hormonal health has been waaaaayyyyyy more difficult than I had imagined.
Following a strict low foodmap diet, taking the supplements, detoxing, prioritizing sleep, trying new low impact routines is nothing compared to changing my identify in the gym.
I’m so used to pushing and wanting more that taking steps back to rest feels foreign to me.
I’ve been through numerous injuries and have found my way back. This is different. My body fights me and feels foreign as if I’m living in a body I cannot control. So the journey back to me will be longer and require much more patience.
There comes a time when you have to put your physique goals below your health goals. I’m learning to accept my current situation and love myself again.
I think it’s important to remember that everything in life is temporary and this too shall pass.
Patience. Self love. Rest.
