Can we talk about this?? There is a THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLAR difference between the average hairstylist salary vs someone who works any other field. $22,000 a year breaks down to $10.58 per hour worked when working full time. Yet, you can get $15 per hour starting pay at Target.

Stylists: we should not allow ourselves to charge less than we are worth. We do this to ourselves. And it really needs to STOP 🛑 We are better than this. Don’t be afraid to CHARGE WHAT YOU’RE WORTH!!!

We spend thousands on continuing education and are afraid to raise our haircut prices by $5 or our color services by $10.

I know many hairstylists who haven’t raised their pricing in 10 years. Many. But, you as a client, have had raises over the past 10 years. Why should be charge the same when 10 years ago, a tube of color was about $3-$4 and now it’s anywhere from $9-$13 per tube? A box of gloves has gone from $5-$7 to $20-$25 in less than a year. We have had to invest in more cleaning supplies, masks, and gloves. We have had to add time to our appointments to be able to clean and disinfect every service between clients. Yet, we charge the same.

This shouldn’t be accepted. If you are a stylist, please believe in your work and yourself and charge enough to be able to cover your bills.

Clients, please don’t be offended when we raise our pricing. If you are unable to afford the difference, we are always happy to recommend a great stylist who can accommodate your budget.

We can be better and do better in this industry.

In accordance with Governor Cooper, we are pleased to announce that we no longer have to wear a face mask in the salon! Woo hoo! With that being said, if you still prefer wearing one, please let us know and we’ll be happy to provide one for you and for ourselves during your appointment. We are excited for this next chapter🎉
