What is “Facial Cupping” and how is it done? Will it leave marks?
Facial cupping uses gentle suction cups to increase blood flow, stimulate collagen, reduce puffiness, and relieve muscle tension, leading to firmer, brighter skin and toned features, but requires proper technique (moving cups constantly, avoiding inflammation) to prevent bruising or irritation, with benefits like reduced fine lines and enhanced product absorption.
Benefits
Boosts Circulation & Collagen: Delivers oxygen-rich blood, stimulating collagen and elastin for firmer, plumper skin.
Reduces Puffiness: Drains stagnant lymph fluid, reducing facial swelling and creating a more toned look.
Relieves Tension: Loosens tight facial muscles, easing tension and potentially softening expression lines.
Improves Product Absorption: Enhances skin's ability to absorb serums and moisturizers.
Softens Scars & Fine Lines: Promotes cell turnover and strengthens connective tissues.
Risks & Side Effects
Bruising/Marks: Occurs from leaving cups in one spot too long or using too much suction; requires constant movement.
Temporary Discomfort: Dizziness, lightheadedness, or nausea can happen but usually subsides quickly.
Infection/Irritation: Can happen with poor hygiene or if used on broken/inflamed skin (like active acne).
How it Works
Gentle Suction: Small cups are glided across the face with light suction, unlike body cupping which uses stronger suction.
Movement is Key: Cups must be kept moving, usually with an oil or serum, to avoid capillary damage and bruising.
Areas: Smaller cups are for eyes/nose, larger ones for cheeks/forehead/jawline.
Key Facts to Remember
Not Body Cupping: Facial cupping is much gentler and aims for glow, not deep muscle release or strong marks.
Prep is Crucial: Always use with a serum or oil to allow gliding and prevent skin damage.
Avoid Inflammation: Do not use on active breakouts, rashes, or sores

WHAT IS CUPPING THERAPY?
Cupping therapy is an ancient practice used for health and wellness. It involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction helps in improving blood flow and relieving muscle tension.
Dry cupping involves creating a vacuum in the cup using heat or a pump/suction.
The cups used can be made from glass, bamboo, or silicone. They are usually placed on the back, neck, or shoulders. The therapy session usually lasts between 5 to 20 minutes.
You may notice circular marks on the skin after the session. These marks are normal and usually fade after a few days. Many people use cupping to help with pain relief and relaxation.
Cupping therapy is considered safe when performed by trained professionals. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new therapy.
