Mama Needs Massage

My spring choir season is a wrap! This season's music was my favorite so far. I joined this choir a year ago to add music and ongoing nervous system regulation to my life. With the political chaos in our country, I was seeking as much grounding support as I could get.

I've found all that, plus a community of people who add laughter, kindness, and diverse life experiences to my orbit. Singing together, making mistakes together, and helping behind the scenes with setup/cleanup and social media this season, have helped to deepen my connections with folks here. And so, as an unexpected bonus, I've also found a sense of belonging as well. 🥰

Our choir performance today was such fun! Thanks Linda Hunt and Jen Anderson for coming to support me 💓💓 One more performance tomorrow at 3 and then we're done with this awesome colorful lineup.

In our family, my Dad sings at celebrations, and my nephew's h.s. graduation this month held the tradition strong! 🥰

Over the years Dad has shared his gift of song at every big celebration I can think of - weddings, reunions, birthdays, graduations, and every Aloha Friday! 🎶

Happy kickoff to summer!! It's been wild here with my parents visiting, nephew graduating from high school, other nephew returning from a semester abroad, middle school graduation, 10th grade finals, and SO many celebrations! 🎉🎉

Adding this to my list of recommended books on parenthood. It's full of beautiful personal stories that normalize the sometimes-harrowing journey towards and around parenthood that no one talks about.

Teacher Appreciation Week throwback! 🍎💆‍♀️

I spent time offering chair massages to teachers and staff last month, and let me tell you: educators carry a LOT in their necks and shoulders. 🪨

Teachers deserve our appreciation more than just 1 week a year!
