Dr. Ellsworth thoughtfully explains the difference. 🔹A Panniculectomy is the amputation of abdominal skin and tissue. This is often an option for patients after massive weight loss to remove the excess tissue. 🔹An Abdominoplasty is similarly the removal of excess skin and tissue, but with additional contouring. Often we will add on Liposuction to accentuate the waistline. Both procedures have the same incision and similar post operative restrictions.
