This one right here… it hits different. Hits home in a way I can’t even fully explain.

We are so different. I’m bold, extra, all the sparkle and flair… and she? She’s sleek, simple, effortlessly elegant. Less is more in her world. And I love that about her.

So when she looked at me with those calm, steady eyes and asked, “Mom, can you do my lashes for prom?” — my heart caught in my chest. I said yes, quickly, holding back a wave of emotion.

I don’t even know how I made it through doing her lashes without tearing up, because in that moment, it was like I was seeing every version of her — from a little girl twirling in the living room to the young woman sitting before me — all at once.

I didn’t cry in front of her… I never do. That’s just me. But when I was alone? Oh, I cried. Because that simple ask meant the world to me. It was more than lashes. It was trust, connection, a piece of her letting me be part of a memory she’ll never forget.

Y’all don’t understand how my heart feels right now… but just know it’s full. So, so full.
