Studies have found a link between the debilitating world of migraine and the distressing realm of hair loss. 'Migraine themselves do not directly cause hair loss,' notes an article from Migraine Meanderings, but it's the accompanying factors like 'stress, medication side effects, and nutritional challenges' that can lead to thinning and shedding of hair.

Research reveals how the stress and hormonal fluctuations that trigger migraine can also contribute to hair loss. It's a complex dance of cause and effect, where one condition subtly influences the other. As the article suggests, understanding this connection is crucial, as it sheds light on the broader impacts of migraine on overall health.

At NUVEDA, we seek to raise awareness and create solutions that address not just the migraine but its extended effects on your well-being. Our commitment is to offer all-natural, holistic remedies that resonate with the body's intricate systems.

Exercise is not just a routine but a key to unlocking migraine relief. This is not mere conjecture but a truth echoed by science. When we engage in regular, moderate exercise, our bodies release endorphins, known colloquially as 'feel-good' hormones. These natural chemicals are potent analgesics, alleviating pain and elevating mood, making them invaluable in the battle against migraine.

The role of exercise in mitigating migraine is well-documented. The American Headache Society highlights studies revealing that regular aerobic exercise can be as effective as preventive migraine medications in reducing the frequency and severity of attacks (American Headache Society, 2019). This finding is a game-changer, positioning exercise as a powerful, accessible tool in our migraine management arsenal.

But how does this work? Exercise induces physiological changes – it stabilizes stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, which are often implicated in triggering migraines. Additionally, maintaining a consistent exercise regimen can improve sleep quality, another critical factor in reducing migraine occurrences.

So, as we tie our shoelaces and step out, remember, each stride is a step away from pain and a step towards wellness. Exercise isn't just about staying fit; it's about reclaiming control from migraine and embracing a life of balance and health.

In the midst of a throbbing migraine, we can sometimes find comfort and relief in the unexpected gestures from those around us. One of our favorite stories comes from a NUVEDA customer named Jane.

During a migraine, Jane's little nephew decided to turn himself into a "live-action white noise machine" and performed a soft-shoe tap dance routine, while whispering silly rhymes. Though this did not work, his performance offered a much-needed distraction and got Jane laughing. This memorable act of support reminded Jane that despite her pain, moments of laughter and joy could still exist. 😅

💭Ever wondered why your migraine suddenly occurs? Scientists have been investigating the causes of migraine, linked to everything from blood vessel dilation to nervous system dysfunctions. But sometimes, our everyday environment plays a larger role than we think! The American Headache Society found that a staggering 95% of migraine sufferers reported intolerance to strong smells. Dr Niushen Zhang, neurologist and Chief of the Headache Division at Stanford Medicine, stated that this hypersensitivity can lead to a 'sensory integration disorder', making everyday scents a ticking time bomb for migraine. 🌹🔥

On top of that, changes in our routines and habits can affect our well-being. A study by the Montefiore Headache Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine discovered that changes in stress levels are key. They found that the risk of a migraine attack was almost five times higher during the first six hours of a decline in stress.
⏰💤

Even activities that we enjoy might be triggering our migraine. About a third of migraine sufferers associate symptom worsening with incoming storms, due to changes in barometric pressure. 🌩️🌀

Did you know that migraine doesn’t just affect adults? Yes, even our little ones can experience these debilitating headaches. Migraine in children is a subject close to our hearts, and today we shine a light on it. 🧒🏽👧🏼

Pediatric migraine affects around 10% of school-age children, according to the Migraine Research Foundation. These aren't just regular headaches. The impact is much more profound, affecting their education, social interactions, and overall quality of life.

Recognizing the signs is the first step towards helping our children manage this condition effectively. Migraine in children can manifest differently than they do in adults. Instead of the typical one-sided headache, children often experience pain on both sides of their head. Other symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and sensitivity to light, sound, or smells.

Migraine can also manifest as periods of pallor and fatigue, mood changes, dizziness, and blurry vision. In some cases, you might notice your child blinking excessively or rubbing their eyes – signs of what's known as an ocular migraine.

If you suspect your child might be suffering from migraines, it's crucial to consult with a pediatric neurologist. Understanding and recognizing the signs is the first step, but a professional diagnosis is essential in crafting an effective treatment plan.

Let's open up the conversation about migraine in children. Share your experiences, tips, and stories in the comments below. Together, we can better equip ourselves to aid our children in their fight against migraine. 💪

If you're noticing an increase in migraine attacks around your period, you're not alone. It’s not just cramps and mood swings – for many, the menstrual cycle brings along a highly unwelcome guest, a migraine. This connection between menstruation and migraine isn’t purely anecdotal; it's steeped in hormonal science.

In fact, between 60 and 70 percent of people assigned female at birth report a link between their menstrual cycle and increased migraine attacks. Studies show that estrogen, which fluctuates throughout the menstrual cycle, plays a key role. Migraine are more likely to occur when estrogen levels drop, particularly in the days leading up to your period.

While the link between hormones and migraine is well established, the picture is complex and there's still much we don't fully understand. What we do know is that the migraine brain is hypersensitive to change, and hormonal fluctuations can act as a trigger for those prone to this debilitating condition.

The good news? There are ways to manage these menstrually-related migraine. From lifestyle adjustments to medications timed to your cycle, a range of strategies can help keep the migraine monster at bay.
