Not every batch gets to graduate.

This one looked like everything at cut. That caramel color, was everything, until@it wasn’t 🤦🏽‍♀️.

Then six weeks later it decided to do something completely different and we had to have a talk.

The answer was no.🤷🏽‍♀️🖤💛

That is the part of handmade nobody shows you. Not everything makes it to the website and that is okay.

Because what does make it has been tested, watched, and approved by someone who actually cares what ends up on your skin.

We have been holding that standard since the beginning.

Castor oil does not get enough credit. It is one of those ingredients that may not sound exciting, but it does a lot in the formula.

In our body butter, it helps add that rich, smooth feel without making the butter feel like it was just thrown together.

We use castor oil in our soaps too, because when an ingredient makes sense, we keep it around.

That is the part I want people to understand about LBNY SKIN®.
We do not choose ingredients just because they look good on a label.

A lot of people think confidence comes first. It usually doesn’t.
Most of the time, you start unsure, sometimes a little messy and while still figuring it all out.

This was one of my first times making what is now our Turmeric Blemish Bar.

Back then, it looked different. Now, it has grown into the jar version with the sponge.☺️💛🖤

But my point is the same, I did not wait until I felt fully ready. I started, i made mistakes, changed a lot, i I learned a lot, I adjusted and guess what, kept going.

I have applied this message to my business, my skincare routine and my life. And found out that, In Life, you do not have to feel ready first. In Business, growth comes from starting and adjusting and in your Skincare routine or your skincare products, the old version can become the new version. Change is in inevitable and change is good. That’s part of growth.

Sometimes the next step is not to overthink it, It is to begin.

Kokum butter, is not the loudest ingredient in the room. But it is one of the most important ones in my formulas. Kokum butter helps give the bar structure and a firmer feel - which means you get more use out of it before it dissolves. It also brings a lighter, less greasy feel than some of the heavier butters.

Most people have never heard of kokum butter. But their skin can feel the difference when n there. That is exactly why l use it.
Because I do not choose ingredients for the label. I choose them for the result.
