Hey Kanvas Fam! 🎨🎨🎨

Today I wanted to take some time to talk to y’all about being patient and confident in whatever field you are in…
I haven’t been a makeup artist that long…4 years to be exact and throughout that period I’ve been told that being a makeup artist isn’t a career or asked if being a makeup artist pays my bills.
Now at the beginning of my career, I questioned myself constantly because of those small criticisms.
But! Lately, I’ve been standing firm in what I do and owning the fact that I’m growing a 6-figure business.
This mindset took a long time to create and what helped was aligning myself with the right people and creating a business that would attract the right clients. Now in my opinion my business isn’t where I want it to be but someone showed me that I'm on the right path.
I met over the Memorial Day weekend. She booked me in advance for the entire weekend which honestly freaked me out and made me go into… is she a scammer mode lol
But she paid me right away! Didn’t question the cost… didn’t complain about anything. She trusted me based on pictures and reviews which I’m sure had her a little scared too. But that showed me that she was serious and that I could attract high-dollar clients.
And Yes! She is a high-dollar client!
My gurl does it big and I’m happy to see a fellow Caribbean woman walking in her purpose. Not only did she create a safe environment for me but she shared gems about growing a business. Which! For free? Yeah, that’s hard to come by. She was sweet and even invited me to one of her events.
I’m saying all this to say that believing in yourself, putting in the work, and having the patience to know that your time will come is all that's needed in this life.
P.S. Her soon to be
dropped some gems as well!
I really appreciated the kind words and inspiration. I even purchased three of the books that y'all told me to read. Thanks again!
