what a week, huh houston? 🥴

ICYMI, most of texas has been gripped in record breaking temps and snow/ice since february 14th. (happy valentine’s to us), along with “rolling” black outs that left most of the state without power and water during some of the coldest weather we’ve ever seen.

my family and i were some of the lucky ones that only lost power for around 30 hours, and as of last saturday we have had stable power and water. others have not been so fortunate. busted pipes have caused hardware stores to run out of plumbing supplies, and people have had to go as far as louisiana to find materials for repairs. to say this was an insane event for us southerners is an understatement.

that being said, are you still without power or running water? i have had cancellations on wednesday and thursday of this week, and would love to offer my hair washing services at to those of you in need of some normalcy during this mess. this will include a rough dry and will be free of charge.

subtle shift, big impact 💥
Karen was looking to switch up her color without a lot of maintenance, and a haircut that could allow her to continue to grow out her last pixie cut gracefully.
i chose to tone her all over with colorance in a custom burgundy blend, and cut the inevitable post pixie mullet into a chic little bob.
A lot of change packed into a short 2.5 hour appointment!

you know...despite this insane, uncertain, tumultuous year...i have so much to be thankful for.

i’m thankful for a fiancé and partner that supports me to an extent that i never knew was possible.

thankful for the relationship and life we’ve built together that has made me realize what loving someone is really about.

thankful for having the opportunity to start a business safely with one of my closest friends, and having it flourish despite a pandemic.

thankful for my health, thankful for the roof over my head, thankful for the meal i have cooking in the oven.

it’s been a truly humbling adventure so far, 2020. it’s really made me aware of my privilege and how fortunate we are. while there is still so much work to do, i’m feeling hopeful for our future and progress as a country and society.
