We’re stepping into the main level to look at how we completely transitioned the living room, dining room, and grand staircase of this traditional English Tudor from dated and dark to bright and fresh.

Faced with heavy mahogany millwork throughout these primary spaces, our process of lightening things up actually began with the client’s extensive art collection. In the living and dining rooms, we relied on the vibrant colors from those strong pieces, layering in lighter fabrics and soft rugs to instantly lift the atmosphere.

The grand staircase serves as a stunning anchor for the home, where we balanced the rich, historic wood and original beams with refreshing, airy tones. By preserving the standout original features—like the limestone floors and architectural stone—and introducing light, reflective layers, these spaces feel completely renewed while keeping their original soul intact.

We believe bunk rooms deserve the same attention as every other room.
