Perming my own tape weft extensions because curl pattern doesn’t happen by accident.

I start with a clarifying wash, then roll the perm. I process outside because perms stink and I’m not pretending they don’t.
5 minutes processing, 5 minutes neutralizing.

Pulling the rods out is my least favorite part, always.

I use Option 2 perm for this because it is a gentle perm. That won’t wreck your hair extensions if done properly.

Not all extension hair should be permed. Not all perms are the same. And this is definitely not a rush job. But I use without this quality of hair I wouldn’t even attempt this!

This is how I lock down my corners every time.

Stitch your corner like normal. When you think you’ve placed your final stitch, do one more—but this time, go back in the opposite direction. Start stitching back to the left, laying that stitch directly over the last one.

That subtle crisscross motion pulls the corner in even tighter and prevents any shifting, pulling, or gapping as you start stitching back to the left.

This has been my go-to technique for years, and it has never failed me.

Here’s how I style my natural curls WITH extensions (because I do things a little differently)

• I always separate my real hair from my extension hair
• Cream + gel + leave-in (yes, all three)
• Style layer by layer — no rushing
• Bounce Curl brush to define + smooth
• Baby sections on the extension hair for a natural blend
• Diffuse together
• THEN I finish the top and lightly curl a few extension pieces so they match my curl pattern

My natural hair is a little frizzier than the extensions — and that’s normal.
Blending is about technique, not hiding anything.
