The Lumenis LightSheer Infinity diode laser combines the power of 805nm and 1040nm wavelengths to create a more personalized hair removal experience.

• The 805nm wavelength is a shorter wavelength that works closer to the surface of the skin to target pigment in the hair follicle. This wavelength is safe and effective to use on lighter skin tones.

• The 1040nm wavelength penetrates deeper, essentially bypassing the melanin in the skin to target the pigment in the hair follicle deep beneath the skin’s surface. This wavelength is safe to use on all skin tones, but generally reserved for clients who have more melanin in their skin, or clients who suffer from conditions such as PCOS or Paradoxical Hypertrichosis.

The dual wavelength system allows us to treat a wide range of skin types, hair characteristics, and medical conditions with precision and confidence.

Consistent appointments that are appropriately spaced out is crucial to seeing results.

Laser hair removal works by targeting hairs in the anagen (growth) phase, but only a percentage of your hair is in the anagen phase at any given time.

That means:

- Some hairs will respond during your first session
- Others will only be ready at future appointments

The hair growth cycle explained:

1. Anagen (Growth Phase) 🌱
This is the active growth phase where the hair is fully connected to the blood supply and follicle.

👉🏼 This is the ONLY phase where laser hair removal is effective, because the laser targets the pigment in the hair while it’s still attached to the root.

2. Catagen (Transition Phase) 🔄
The hair stops growing and begins to detach from the follicle.

👉🏽 The connection to the blood supply is weakening, so laser is much less effective here.

3. Telogen (Resting Phase) 😴
The hair is fully detached and resting in the follicle.

👉🏾 At this stage, the hair isn’t actively growing, so laser can’t properly target the root.

4. Exogen (Shedding Phase) 🍃
This is when the hair naturally sheds and falls out, making room for a new hair to grow.

👉🏿 You may notice hair falling out during this phase, but this is part of the natural cycle, not the result of treating that specific hair at that moment.
