Good morning Queens! Are you planning to go to the beach before the summer is over? Vacationing soon and want to go swimming at the hotel/resort's pool? Remember, you'll need to try to protect your hair as much as possible! Here are a few tips, if you opt out using a swimming cap.
1. Wet your hair completely with plain, clean water. This will help your hair from soaking up to much salt from the ocean water and or chlorine from the pool.
2. Braid or twist your hair. This prevents your hair from tangling. (Detangling is already a chore, why make it worse?)
3. Rinse your hair with plain water after swimming. You'll need to rinse the salt or chlorine from you're hair. This helps prevent the salt/chlorine from drying your hair out and causing breakage.
4. Instead of shampooing your hair, use a cowash. This helps prevent unnecessary dryness.
5. Use a hydrating conditioner. A conditioner that is designed for your hair texture. Black hair texture has to add the moisture back into our hair.

I'm a firm believer in ALWAYS wearing a hairstyle that requires minimum to no maintenance while on vacation! Braids, twist outs, locs and updos are not your only choices. If you haven't tried a lace front wig or sewin, you should! (Sidenote: If installed and removed correctly, wigs will NOT damage your hairline or skin) Slap an edge control scarf and or bonnet on while traveling, take that bad boy off, run your fingers through your hair and keep it moving! My go to wigs or sewins are body wave, water wave and or kinky curly.
