DA steam balance typically requires knowledge of individual temperatures and pressure and all the components (makeup water, condensate, flash steam, and the different steam sources). And the operating pressure inside the DA unit. The DA unit does not drop any pressure - hence the only pressure drops will be thorough valves, strainers, and piping losses.

Usually the coldest makeup water will require the largest amount of steam. This typically would be during a startup condition.

In the USA will typically use "Lbs per Hour" and "Btu per Hour" or similar units.

Superheated steam will become "saturated steam" inside the DA unit.
