O’beehave Refill Bubble Bars coming for u LA

Our refill bars started in our salons as an experiment.

Could we eliminate almost all of the plastic in our salons back bar? Would our clients actually BYOB and take part in what we called “the refill project”? If we created our own products, would our clients trust us enough to use the products on their hair? Could this whole crazy concept actually work?

It did. It really did. Better than we could have possibly foreseen. The first year we sold over 300 percent more retail than we had ever year prior. Almost every single client eventually brought in their own bottled and hit the taps 🫧

And the formulas? They (and we, the stylists) absolutely LOVED them, and we still do to this very day!

Fun little suprise? This plastic free experiment also allowed us to customize every pour. We started blending the flavors to create new botanical blends. Someone called us “the Starbucks of beauty” another client said “this is like a Juice bar, but for the shower!?”

All of the what if’s turned into Can doos.

And now we’re ready to introduce our refill bars to other salons looking to bring unique sustainable experiences to their communities too! Can’t get to a refill bar? Our mascot has been around for a looooon time!

I first doodled her on a napkin at a Brooklyn bar called long before I created the O'Beehave Naturals brand.

It has made me realize some things are really in existence before we can see them (there are usually signs). She became the logo for my salons called ; “rockstar hair stylist sans attitude “ was one of the first descriptions we got from the press. It was an amazing salon brand. It captured what was to come more and more popular in our society. Collective inclusion, cool relaxed artsy vibes, unisex service and sustainability.

I put to use my marketing degree to create something in our industry that had not been done yet, and it caught on. We were voted the hottest new salon in Brooklyn, had write ups in the The New York Times Lucky Magazine Fox News Time Out Los Angeles ; awesome times.

Fast forward ten years later to when we began formulating and experimenting with refill in our own salons, we needed a mascot and well, miss. Beehave was there all along (I think she is me.. lol..
Although that was not the idea when I was doodling her) so she is now the mascot for our little amazing collection of products to help other salons bring something really unique special and ofc sustainable into their own hair spaces.

The plan is to expand the refill project and to have O’beehave in at least one salon in every state across the country.

Hair is fabric. We intentionally formulate obeehave products to gently cleanse, condition and treat hair; all types. Color treated, virgin, curly, wavy, straight, fine, thick, coarse.. no matter what hair type you have our products will instantly reveal what’s been going behind synthetic chemicals, color additives and fragrances. Happy, healthy, better than ever, hair.

Try our system with just One Wash + One Condish.
Brush your hair. Wet it. Massage the Wash into it. Squeeze the wash into your hairs fabric. Massage the cleanser into your scalp.
Rinse. (If you have the time, do that again. 2 washes is never over done with our products.) Rinse. Wring out excess water to make room inside the hair’s follicle for the conditioner to work its magic.
Massage your O’beehave conditioner into your hair, massage into your scalp. Comb thru (use a fine tooth comb ; this presses the conditioner into the follicle) let it sit for 3-5 min.
While the conditioner is working its magic, use the wash to cleanse face and body, use the conditioner to remove make up and shave. Elevated products formulated to use head to toe.
Enjoy the process of taking care of yourself. That’s what we intended the O’beehave experience to be.

The Refill Project started in our salons on LI in 2010 as a dedication to doing things better for your hair (OFC!) and the planet.

16 years in development, we continue to innovate and introduce this simple beautiful artisan way to do “shampoo” to new markets across the country.
