Back to school season is here! Along with the excitement of returning to a quiet home and a regular routine, anxiety and stress can creep in. Both parents and children can feel the stress of the new school year. Our children may feel anxious about what to expect with new friends, new teachers, or the pressure of a new grade level. Us moms and dads worry about new bus routes, school shopping, and ensuring the sleep routine is back in full effect.

Whether the stress is high or low, manage your and your child’s stress with this affirmation: “I am not alone in this. I can lean on others for support.”

Remind your children that although they are stepping into a new level, they are not in this alone. Remind yourself of the same thing! Lean on your community and know that asking for help is a strength.

Break Bullying

The excitement of a new environment and new friends can easily be outweighed by the strain of being isolated as the “new kid”.

Bullying can be done in multiple ways, and may not always be noticeable. Physical bullying can leave bruises, scars, or missing items, but social, verbal, and cyber bullying only leaves scars within.

Studies show that one out of three children have been bullied, however up to 50% would never speak to their parents or teachers about it!**

How can we help our children? How we can break the cycle and teach our children that it’s uncool to harm and exclude their peers?

✨Start with educating and bringing awareness of what it is and what it could look like. Teaching them about bullying also encourages them to speak out against it and excludes themselves from the activity.

✨ Ask questions, listen, and observe.

Asking our children about their day can extend to deeper level questions that can help paint a picture of whether they are a victim of bullying. Keep the questions conversational and relaxed so they feel open to share. Listen for clues and observe their behavior or response when it involves avoiding school or social interaction.

✨ Uplift their confidence and remind them of the support and love they are surrounded by.

Bullying can leave an intense and long-term effect on their health, self-worth, and quality of life from adolescence to adulthood.** Affirmations directed towards raising their self-worth will guide them to healing. Additionally, come up with a plan of action to stop the bullying.

Let’s pour love into our youth and pray the love begins to spill out from our homes and into their schools and environments.

June 11th, 2021 we relaunched and reappeared! This Soul Glow Monthly, we celebrate taking risks and going after bigger-picture goals that serve our souls and the community that surrounds us. We celebrate our purpose and passion! We celebrate you!

Thank you for rocking with us, reading our newsletter, buying our products, and for the love and support you have given the past two years! To us, this is deeper than "products and services". We are diving into educating our youth, bringing awareness and resources to our community, and encompassing holistic health in all of our lives

Simply put: we need our fathers. We need them to create children, and we need their help to raise and guide them. Studies show that the absence of a father has a massive negative effect on multiple areas of our children's lives.* From adolescence to adulthood, fatherless children are impacted academically, socially, mentally, and financially.

Sometimes we have no control over a father-less home; whether from spiritual transition or the absence and ignorance of one father influencing and recycling the current one. In both situations, however, one parental role is not more significant than the other. Therefore, we celebrate the ones that are here, and that were present.

✨ Bridge the connection and gap with your own father. The relationship that we have with our own parents can manifest in the relationships we have with our children. How can we strengthen our families and bring generational healing?
