I feel bad tellin my kids i had to empty they graduation savings so I cuz pay off some debt thats stopping us from moving.. i still have $10,600 left of debt. My kids told me 2 things today. 1) its ok as long as its goin to something thats gonna help us.
2) my daughter begged me to let her apply for jobs so she can help.

I feel so bad they think they have to take on big responsibilities like that to help me. I really wish I had a better support system 😪

For the past two years, my children and I have been living through a terrifying situation that has left us traumatized and trying to survive day by day. We have dealt with death threats, stalking, harassment, gun violence, property destruction, and threats toward my kids. An obsessive neighbor has been arrested for multiple felonies involving other women for the same kind of behavior, but the situation is still barely being handled. We have also been caught in shootings because of neighbors having beef with other people, and break-ins have added even more fear and trauma to our lives.

My children do not feel safe here anymore. They have been begging me for months to move. They have come to me scared, saying a man was outside the window knocking and trying to lure them out of the home or get them to let him in. They are afraid to sleep at night, and the cops have not been able to catch the person. We are being targeted in ways that feel sick and twisted, and as a mother, watching my children live in this kind of fear has been devastating.

In August, tornado damage made everything even worse. Our home was left with multiple roof leaks that have caused black mold and electrical issues. I used the money I had to help my family through all of this, and now I am in debt. That debt has become another barrier for us, because it has lowered my credit score and is preventing me from applying for new housing.

Right now, the biggest need is paying off the debt that is standing in the way of us moving. My goal is to move my children and myself before next May, so we can finally have a chance at living somewhere safer. I am trying to build my credit, fix my debt, and do everything I can to get my kids out of a home that no longer feels safe or stable.
