For over 150 years, Bp has supplied the energy fueling America’s growth. From New York to San Francisco, Bp provides Americans with fuels, lubricants and other products essential to modern transportation, including a growing number of lower-carbon and carbon-neutral products. Its U.S. retail presence consists of roughly 7,200 Bp and ARCO-branded sites, along with more than 1,000 am/pm convenience stores in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Nevada. Included in that roughly 7,200 BP sites, one of those sites is in Jacksonville Florida (6845 Arlington Expressway) and Black owned and operated by Kimberly Claridy Walker of Walker Enterprises and Jasmine Brown of The Opulence Firm.

Lake City based entrepreneur Kimberly Claridy Walker wanted to find a way to excel during the pandemic. She had intentions on opening a restaurant and lounge or purchasing a franchise of a spa in Jacksonville but due to COVID – 19 those plans were delayed. Her business portfolio currently consists of Walkers Property Management, Boarding Housing, Non-profit Organization and a Food Truck. She later contacted The Opulence Firm and consulted with Franchise Specialist Jasmine Brown. After reviewing her current business portfolio and the market she presented her with several opportunities.

Kimberly Claridy Walker’s goal was to thrive during the pandemic but also to be able to assist others. Kimberly and Jasmine then brainstormed the benefits of acquiring a gas station and how it would open doors for the culture. These two women went on to turn their dreams to a reality. As of June 1st becoming owners of a BP Gas station and convenient store. Upon the acquisition being completed they went and implemented a second chance felony friendly hiring program.

“We didn’t just do this for us, we did this for everyone. And through this we plan to open doors for others and hopefully we can change the narrative of how other corporations view individuals with a background and also to promote collaboration over competition”. said Jasmine Brown.

Kimberly and Jasmine has since started Boss Ladies On the move. Boss Ladies on the Move is a business consulting group that assist with development and ex*****on of business plans, franchise acquisitions and public relations. They have successfully been able to assist 2 investment groups acquire gas stations as well.

"We're excited to open our 1st location in Jacksonville and make history with BP in Jacksonville as being the only local black owned gas & convenient store location," said Kim Claridy Walker, founder and executive chairman of Walker's Enterprise. "We have a location that is easily accessible so we can help get drivers back on the road quickly. Jacksonville, Florida is the perfect location to do that."

Prior to the acquisition that took place on June 1st the BP location had limited hours and was performing below average. The location is now open 24/7 and offers many amenities, including: Name brand snacks, Car Wash, Food truck, to Go Zone with the latest electronics and much more. The location held its Grand Opening on Saturday June 20th, 2020 and came in # 1 selling over 58k gallons of gas.
