Hi! I’ve seen some new faces here lately so I thought I’d re-introduce myself. I’m Laura, a hairstylist and curly hair specialist that loves all textures of hair. I’ve been obsessed with the art and science of cosmetology since I was 12. In high school I started cutting and coloring my own hair, also doing my friends hair just for fun.

During my 20’s I lived and worked as a visual artist in Asheville, NC while working part time as a salon coordinator and receiving all sorts of amazing haircuts and colors from my coworkers. I think I’ve tried it all. Now I’ve been a hairstylist for 9 years and found a niche with curly hair.

Fun fact about me: I’ve organized and pulled off a flash mob event in less than a week.

Boring fact about me: I rarely drink coffee, but when I do, it’s decaf. 😂

FAQ: What does my business name mean?
My last name is Schulhauser which translates to “schoolhouse” in German. Schoolhouse is also my artist name and nickname- which I always answer to.

I’m curly hair certified with and , and a curl inspired stylist with . I believe in continuing education and taking classes to learn new techniques which I bring to my clients.

And lastly, I pride myself in creating a safe, clean, private space for people of all ages and backgrounds to look their best and enhance the beauty they walk in with.

We went for the bangs this time and a textured razor cut! Fine wavy hair is so easily weighed down by products, and doesn’t always need as much moisture as medium-to-coarse textures do. We didn’t condition, just used a light leave-in and a little bit of Curl Balm and PuffMe Mousse. Look at those curls springing up! 🌻
