Is it shedding or breakage
Because they are NOT the same, and treating them the same is where most people go wrong
Shedding comes from the root
You will see a small white bulb at the end of the hair
This is part of the natural hair cycle, but when it becomes excessive, there is always a reason
Hormones, stress, nutrient deficiencies, scalp inflammation, or internal imbalances
Breakage happens along the hair shaft
No bulb, just snapped pieces of hair
This is typically from chemical damage, heat, tension from extensions or styling, or weakened hair structure
Here is the problem
Most people assume they are “losing hair” and start using random products
But if you are treating breakage like shedding, or shedding like breakage, you will not get results
The solution starts with actually identifying the cause
Not guessing
This is exactly why I don’t diagnose hair loss in the chair during a regular appointment

MYTH BUSTING MONDAY
“Minoxidil will fix my hair loss.”
This is one of the biggest misconceptions I see.
Minoxidil can help stimulate hair growth by increasing blood flow to the follicle, but it does not address why the hair loss is happening in the first place.
If you’re dealing with inflammation, hormonal imbalance, nutrient deficiencies, or internal stress, you can’t outgrow those issues with stimulation alone.
This is why so many people feel like it works at first, then stops.
