" was so ready to shed some inches after quarantine. She was also SO excited for bangs that she DM’ed before the appointment to let me know 😂 (it was so cute). To be perfectly honest, I have been talking gals OUT of fringe all summer because I felt with our very hot summer + masks, now was not the time. But the heart wants what it wants and I couldn’t be happier with how this turned out!!! This is a more polished finish for the shape because Kira loves a good blowout.

My biggest piece of advice to keep a s**ggy haircut looking modern blown out is to make sure it has dips or texture near the temples and/or neck. That can be done by twisting or braiding your blowout while it’s still cooling. Or using no-crease clips to compress hair in the temple area. Clipping your bangs in any number of ways after drying is a great way to make them sit well! Have you tried my clipping technique to set your bangs?” - Elena M. 🧡 Comment Below!

"I got a chance to teach a s**g cutting class at last week for the salon family. It was very cool to share my techniques/tips/knowledge with my fellow stylists. As most hairdressers 10+ years in the industry, I’ve developed my own bespoke style of cutting and styling hair. I am SO passionate about airdry or low heat hand styling, it was really rewarding to show my process with the gals at LaKoet. .vine was the BEST MODEL, I was so grateful she trusted me to take her Shagland. She’s an amazing flower artist (go check her out) and pretty much transformed before our eyes at class- even I was shocked at how GOOD her haircut styled itself.
I hope teaching about my favorite things to use behind the chair ( New Wash and styling products, diffusers and brushes, and no crease clips) empowered some of the stylists to work more organically with their clients’ texture. This applies to non-hairdressers and stylists alike. How we treat and wear our hair has changed significantly over the years and it’s so important to recognize how and why that’s happening. Hair is looser, more lived in and sustainable these days, a true answer to the times. Invest in a great cut, and treat your hair gently. That doesn’t mean a s**g + New Wash on everyone...... buuuut it wouldn’t be a bad idea!” - Elena M. ✨
