My first day of school and my last 🥺

I've officially graduated from cosmetology school!! I've learned so much, had so many wonderful clients, made a ton of new friends, great connections, and sweet memories! However, I couldn't be more excited to continue my journey out in the world!

To my Hair Tech family: I love you! I'm lucky to have met so many talented and kind-hearted people! You're all going to do great things 💙

To those that have supported me and taught me along the way: you have no idea just how much I needed you and how thankful I am for all you've done. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️

Well, today is a very bittersweet day. I finally made it to the front chair at school, meaning I'm the one to graduate next, the old head.

8 months ago, I was going through one of the worst experiences of my life, losing a parent. I was also in the middle of moving back home, scared to death to begin this new chapter. No one talks about how scary it is to make the leap from working full-time in the field you went to college or grad school for or the transition into having to go back to part-time work just to get through school in a timely manner or the "omg I'm turning 26 and work no longer carries my insurance." 😂

7 months ago, I walked into the school to get myself registered for class, hoping I'd be with a good group of girls during my time here. Meeting a new group, especially an all female group that's already bonded with each other, can be so intimidating.

A few weeks later, I was starting my first day as others were experiencing their last. I found a whole room full of girls that have become some of my very best friends, I found a career that makes me happier than I ever was before, and most importantly, I've grown within. I found my confidence, discovered new hobbies, learned so much about myself, and have so far had a blast doing it all.

I say all of this to say, if you are on the fence about a career change, or any big life change in general, follow your heart. You never know what you'll find ☺️ Here's to the last little bit of school I have left and for new adventures to come! 🥂✨
