My personal campaign to spread my smiles like wildfire everywhere I go. Life is too short. Remember to smile, Sarah.

My personal journey to be happier and to help everyone I can also find their joy or to rediscover their joy.

15 years ago this woman took a chance on me. It was my first “adult job” and I was so excited to use my Psych degree! 🤓 I didn’t know a thing about autism but it changed my life forever. I found some lifelong friends, 2 workwives (ahem and ), my Master’s degree and specialization as a Behavior Analyst.
5 years ago I moved to a new position she created for me and I have loved it! It’s tough but great. I’m blessed to have such a strong woman as a leader and as my boss. Cheers! 🥂
P.s. She knows the way to my heart with flowers from

How it started vs. how it’s going. It’s so hot! 🥵 I’m spending the rest of the summer only out of the water enough to breathe. Hot turtle summer is what I’m calling it! 🔥🐢

Heeeelp! Reptar already took my arm and he’s coming back for more! 🦖

Did any of you watch The Rugrats? I had forgotten about it until this week and it was fun seeing all the decor based on the show.

In 2020 we had tickets to see Elton John at Madison Square Garden in NYC! 🤩 Those were 2 things on my bucket list and I was so excited! Enter the pandemic. I was incredibly disappointed when it was rescheduled for 2022. It seemed so far away but here we are!
We had the best time! We ate and drank our way across nyc and enjoyed our opportunity to travel again. 🍸We even found a place called and had a drink (or 3) in honor not my Bubbie.
When we stepped into the crown of concert goers tears immediately welled up in my eyes. I don’t think I could stop crying until we were a few songs into the concert. This reaction was unexpected and confusing (mostly confusing for JB who thought he’d done something wrong). I think it was partly because I could feel the energy of the crowd and partly because it was a bit overwhelming to see Elton in person playing all my favorite songs. 🎶 I was fangirling like I’ve never fangirled before. It was an incredible experience I’ll never forget. The pictures of my puffy tear stained face that night will remind me of how amazing it was🥰
P.S. I’ve decided this is the official kickoff to my birthday season🥳👑 When it’s a milestone you get a few months to celebrate. It’s law. 😆

Don’t mind HH’s face. 😂 He actually had a fun time!

This weekend I used a power tool for the first time since my accident. I’m glad I workout because it wore my arm out! 🥵 So satisfying though! 🦾
After an injury like this (or as we get older) people can feel like they’re not useful anymore. I’ve had these thoughts which is why I’m glad my friends and family find ways for me to still be helpful. If you have someone in your life like this don’t try to “shelter” them but include them even if it has to be modified!

Putting hand lotion on your only hand 😆

A couple of years ago bae and I visited the 9/11 museum while we were in NYC. The energy in there is hard to explain. It was somehow heavy but also hopeful. 🌈
It was sobering to see the destruction but heart warming to be reminded of the unity our country can have. In a time of such disunity I think we all need to be reminded that we’re all Americans, all humans, and we all need love and acceptance. ✌🏼
Let this be your reminder to love each other and try to take a beat to think about each other’s perspective and why they think the way they do.❤️

Take me back to Charleston! 🦀🍹I’m ready to go back and stay a little longer this time! This city has so much to explore! 👀
This was my first little trip since the accident. I didn’t think I would have any trouble flying since I was by myself but it was a bit of a humbling experience. The first plane I got on I had to ask the lady next to me to help me buckle my seat. By the time I got on my second flight I had it figured out! My sister-in-law said I should ask for assistance from the airline but I didn’t think I needed it so I didn’t ask. Maybe I will ask for help when we fly with the boys next month.✈️ I’m here to say, ask for help if you need it- there ain’t no shame in that game!

We went crabbing this morning and I made a new friend 🦀 It was fun even if a couple of us were on the struggle bus because of too many 🥂 the night before🥴

My trainer has put a lot of thought into how he would help my body heal. Not only that, he wants my left side to build muscle which can be hard to do when you’re missing your left arm 🦾 As you can see here, he has me scoot far to the right so I’m hanging off the seat. This helps build muscle on the left side also.

P.s. The badass woman in me honors the badass woman in you! ❤️ Keep killing it out there just by being you! Life isn’t easy but even when life is hard, life is good.

This is my life now. 😩
Before the wreck I was able to keep moving as long as I needed to in order to get everything done. Now my body tells me when I’m done and need to rest.

It’s hard to tell myself that I’m not being lazy because I feel like American society still doesn’t value self care. There’s pressure to suck it up and keep going until your body and/or mind gives out. The accident has taught me the importance of slowing down when necessary, to listen to my body.
Our bodies are amazing and strong. Even when they’re weak they’re strong 🦾
So here’s a reminder for you to listen to your amazing strong body.
