Information on food resources in Kalamazoo County
10/24/2025
Today, the MDHHS received notice from the USDA to pause November SNAP benefits until further notice, due to the government shutdown.
As the largest provider of charitable food assistance in Kalamazoo County, we are following this closely and remain prepared to respond to an increase in need. We will be expanding our purchased food inventory, increasing our capacity for pantry appointments, and collaborating with other social service providers.
Our programs are based on self-declaration of need. If you need help with food and groceries, contact us. Call 269-343-3663, email [email protected], or visit www.kzoolf.org.

If you are participating in the economic blackout on Friday, February 28th, please consider small businesses.
Continue to spend at your local, small businesses- your locally owned coffee shops, lunch spots, local thrift store, yoga studio, massage therapist, etc. and spend CASH and CASH only.
Us small businesses shouldn’t suffer more than we inevitably will.
Take a stand, but take care of your community 🖤
