Dear Friends and Family:
Due to my ongoing shoulder issue, I’m am announcing my retirement from the beauty industry as a hairstylist. My last day will be this Friday, October 20th. While this is definitely not the path I thought my career would take, I’m so incredibly grateful for my Morgan Salon family and for all of the clients that I’ve worked with through the years for your support and encouragement. I will miss you all and I’m so thankful for the times you have been in my chair. This is definitely one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make so please understand that while, it may seem as if it were an impulsive decision, it’s been weighing on me since March and by September, it was clear that I can not continue to work in my current capacity with the level of pain I deal with on a daily basis.
All that being said, I’m starting a new path on Tuesday as a nurse’s assistant at Rory’s elementary school. It’s a bit daunting and I’m equally nervous and excited. I know many of you have appointments still on the books, those will be moved to one of the many talented stylists in the salon. You will be in trusted and very good hands! Morgan Salon is the absolute best place I’ve ever worked as a stylist and I encourage everyone to continue your hair journey with them.

Yeah about those “drugstore” shampoos and conditioners...
No, they’re not good.
Yes, I understand you can’t afford much.
No, I won’t guarantee my color services if you use these.
Yes, they will absolutely ruin your color.
No, I will not offer any sort of redo service if you choose to ignore my advice and use these products.
Wanna know why your color fades fast and your hair is dry? If you use drugstore hair care products, here’s your answer. Also, no. Baking Soda and vinegar washing isn’t good for you either. While it may be more “natural” it does, in fact, raise your hair’s pH to above the natural pH of the hair causing the hair to become dry and brittle over time. If you have color/highlights/perms/straighteners/extensions, you will only cause damage to your investment and in a sense wash it down the drain

I got a hair 911 message from my longtime friend who got a not so great cut somewhere else. I worked a little magic today through some creative color and a corrective haircut and we LOVED the outcome! Thanks Amber for trusting me with your hair-mergencies!

Yesterday was a brain melter but in the best way! The amazing owners of MORGAN Salon brought in Mr. Jeffrey Scott for a fantastic dimensional color class and this lovely color and style (done by yours truly 😉) was the culmination of our learning experience. I now have some new tricks up my sleeve to better serve my guests!
