When you soap with milk, what do you do to keep the heat down? I froze my heavy whipping cream into solid ice cubes and put the lye pitcher in a bag of ice water before adding the lye. It took so long to melt I took it out of the ice water and had to wait for it to heat up to over 100° before adding my oil when I'm used to having to wait for it to cool down instead. I had also stopped stirring it for a bit, so when I went to pour it into the oil or solidified again and I was pouring in gloop. It seemed to work out so far though, so here's hoping. I've never made a for pound batch with milk before so some notes were very interesting. The loaf is sitting in the freezer now. Can't wait to see how it turned out!

Are the bugs driving anyone else nuts? Couldn't score any citronella candles at the Farmers Market on Saturday, so I made my own today. Then I discovered it takes 2 weeks to cure! Oh well, new toys are always fun to play with☺️ Made a rose one later because the 5 year old was relentless!
