These works operate as emotional architectures: structures built from memory, dissociation, tenderness, and the ongoing desire to stay when leaving felt easier. This show merges domestic relics, sculptural gestures, and mental health narratives into an archive of what is kept, broken, and reassembled.

With the holidays approaching, and the weather getting... WARMER? (Hello Missouri weather 😅) –we are so excited to continue serving our favorite Kansas Citians and all friends of Flock Salon and Gallery.

With new seasons, comes new pricing! We appreciate all of you who have supported our business, going on seven years in March 2023! Your continued support in the past and in the future is the spark that keeps this place going!

Inflation everywhere means supplies are more expensive, so we have to adjust with the way of the world. With that said, please anticipate an increase to the cost of your usual services, beginning December 1, 2022. However, your favorite Oribe product prices are staying right where they are!

We have a lot of fun activities planned for the holidays, so please keep a lookout on our social media pages (Links below) on times and dates for our Christmas Crafternoon event and upcoming art shows!

We look forward to seeing all of you in the months ahead, as we celebrate another year of beautifying the world, one (f)lock of hair at a time. 😉

COME SEE JESSIE GREEN
Born and raised right across the river, Jessie Shawnta (Pronounced Shown-tay) Green graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2018 with a BFA in Illustration. Since then Jessie has transcended her Illustration background. Appearing in the West 18th street fashion show (2021) as a designer and having her own solo show debut as a fine artist. She is NOW SHOWING at Flock Salon and Gallery.

Jessie is fiercely devoted to her small terrier mix, Gidget, and loves to collect plants. Themes of love, colors and pure emotion are to be found in her works (See above).

Allan Winkler is a nationally acclaimed '75 grad of KCAI who has been showing his work every year for over 50 years. His art is in hundreds of homes across the world and in collections including High Museum of Atlanta, Nerman Museum in Overland Park, KS, and City of Chicago Daley Library. He now resides in the Westside of KCMO.

Flock is pleased to be showcasing his multidisciplinary work including paper and metal cut-outs, pottery, ready-made's, prints, illustrations, and hair-art portraits.
