Some signs you have a silicone/product buildup:

-Hair is shedding or breaking abnormally
-Products don’t seem to be working as usual
-Hair looks stringy and stiff

Silicones aren’t bad, but too much of anything is. If your everyday shampoo, conditioner, and products contain silicone, alternate them with silicone-free ones. Add in a clarifying shampoo!

To identify if a product contains silicones, check the ingredient list for words ending in -cone, -conol, -silane, or -siloxane.

Again, silicones aren’t bad, but because some are not water soluble, they can easily and quickly cause a buildup.
