Exciting news!

I was hoping to get the chance to tell all of you, my amazing clients, the news in person but time is moving fast and I wanted to be sure to get the news out with plenty of time for consideration and questions. I am going to be moving Olivia Meade Hair into my home studio! My beautiful new space has already started to take shape and will be ready to receive you come August. I will also be taking the first three weeks of August off, due to a lack of childcare and to tie up all the finishing details in my new space. Below are all of the details I could think of that you will need regarding this move, but of course do not hesitate to reach out if there was something I missed or you need further clarification or explanation!

-My planned opening date is currently August 22nd.
-The new address is 3905 NE Chaumiere Rd. Kansas City, MO 64117
-Part of this move was inspired by the need and desire to be home when my daughter arrived there from her school day, which is 9:15-12:15. She is normally dropped off by bus at our home around 12:45, so there may be some times when your appointment overlaps slightly with her arrival. Because she will be home in the afternoons, I will have to take 1:00-3:00 off each day in order to get her fed lunch and laid down for a nap.
-I will be opening up Monday appointment times to accommodate this loss of late afternoon appointment times.
-I know there are several of you already scheduled in August, and I plan to speak to you directly about how to best accommodate those appointments, if we haven’t spoken about it already!

Finally, I want to sincerely thank each and everyone one of you for your years of support of not only my business, but me personally. I know this is quite the change, but I truly believe I will be able to better serve you while also helping to better support my sweet Audrey. Again, if you have ANY questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to me!

Where to begin?

It goes without saying, but 2020 has been NUTS. I could have never predicted the waves of change that have flooded not just the personal lives of myself and those around me, but the professional ones as well. As you have come to know, I am always attempting to expand my knowledge both in technique and business in order to give you all the most complete experience possible. Without all of your support this past year, I do not know where I would be!

A bit of change is coming.

Your next appointment will be at Moss Salon Studios, but in Suite 102.
This one is much easier to explain in person, which I am so excited to do! Know that Kelsey and I are totally fine, but some exciting ventures for both of us came up, which includes individual suites and expanding service options for all of our wonderful guests.

I am starting a new adventure.
In the past several weeks, I was offered a position of managment at a new barbershop opening in Parkville next month! I am so excited for this opportunity and hope that I am able to gain knowledge and insight into a part of my industry that I haven't gotten to explore yet. I cannot wait to discuss this new venture with you at your next appointment!

Moving forward
My availability will be changing slightly. I will be working Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning at 10:00 am and ending at 6 pm. I will also have some Saturday appointments available! I remain dedicated and excited to continue servicing you and appreciate your continued support during this time of exciting change!

Wow.
I mean WOW.
How did the last year pass by so quickly? I don’t think any year before has ever gone so fast.
I am so lucky to be your Mama. Your fiery, curious, determined soul makes me so proud. You have pushed me beyond my limits of love, patience and lack of sleep and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Happy FIRST birthday to my beautiful girl, my sweet Audrey. I love you so much.

I couldn’t keep this one to myself.
LIGHTING MATTERS.
Neither of these pics have been edited in anyway, the time stamp is the same and the only difference is a slight change in MY footing. Picture one is what I saw while blow drying (which was amazing cause this formula was hella scary in the bottle) and picture 2 is what I saw when I moved slightly to the right. Blondies, I’m talkin to you! This is both the best AND worst part of blonding. It completely depends on your visual perspective.

These two twins share the number 11, blue eyes and sweet, generous souls. 9 months out for Audrey and waaaay more months for Cody, but I’m loving getting the chance to celebrate both of them today.

These two.
Their bond never ceases to amaze me. I often tell people that I think Cody was born to be a Dad. He stepped right into the role from the moment she was born, no hesitation. Sometimes I think he has more of an instinct for parenting than I do! His loving, gentle and intentional way with our girl is more inspiring to me than I can put into words. And because we love him so much, I decided to post the day after his big day so he could stand out a bit 😉

A few weeks ago, someone close to me was going through something that had taken hold over them. They were crying, inconsolable you might say and for a moment I was at a loss of what to do. After that moment passed, instinctually I went and got my back combing brush, hairspray, highlighter and creme blush and got to work. Once I had finished, they looked up at me, said thank you and I responded with “this is the only thing I know to do when people are upset.” That entire experience resonated with me again this weekend. Hair (sometimes makeup) are the two things I know how to do to make others feel better. And that’s what I have to offer here today. My art, my passion and my career are centered around bringing others in, doin my thing and hoping in the end they leave feeling better than they did when they came in. And for now, that is enough.

It's the final countdown!

It is finally happening! OMH will be opening it's doors OFFICIALLY tomorrow Tuesday, May 19th! What a wild ride the last couple of months have been. I just wanted to check in here, give a few last minute updates and answer any questions you may have!

-Please remember to bring a mask that hooks around your ears to your appointment! We will have some to provide, but these are limited.

-There is a designated and secure parking lot behind the building. You will drive through the building to get to the parking lot, just as a heads up! I added a video to my instagram story/highlight so you can see what I mean.

-Please remain in your car until you receive a text from me saying I am ready for you to come in.

-Please have your mask on before you enter the building. Once you get inside, please wash your hands either in the bathroom. We will have additional sanitation in the suite, including sanitizer, lysol etc.

-It is a secured entry to the salon, so you will need to be let in via the call box at both the front and back doors. We are in Suite 101 which is labeled KMH & OMH on the call box.

Re-opening & COVID-19 Safety Measures

OMH Clients,

It's finally happening! Not only are we finally re-opening for business, but Kelsey Wood Hair and I will be officially opening our suite! We cannot express how excited we are to see you. On that same note, because of ongoing regulations and public health concerns things will look a bit different at your upcoming appointments. Below are the safety measures we are implementing, as well as what to expect going forward.

• For our first week of business, we will be working one person with either stylist. This means one person per appointment (no friends or family can accompany you at this time.)

• Upon arrival, please wait in your car for us to text/call you when it is ok to come inside. Once you enter the building, please have your mask on. If you do not have access to a mask, we will be able to provide a disposable one. However, those are limited so please do your best to provide your own!

• Before entering the suite, we will be taking temperatures with a contactless thermometer.

•We also will ask you to wash your hands/sanitize at the station provided, before entering the suite..

• We will not be offering food, beverages or magazines at this time. This is to attempt to keep cross contamination down!

• We will not be offering any blow drying the first two weeks of being open. It has been suggested that this can cause cross contamination.

• We are also asking for contactless payment. I will have a chip/contactless reader available or you are welcome to submit payment through Venmo as well as request an invoice being sent to you.

• Because of limited appointment spots available, the no show/late cancellation fee will be 100% of scheduled services.

We will be taking this week by week so we can insure your safety as well as that of our own and our families. We appreciate your patience and loyalty and cannot wait to see all of your beautiful faces again! Please do not hesitate to reach out with any concerns.
