Another batch of my favorite past looks to celebrate a decade of Brittianna J LLC 💋✨

I originally picked 45 pics to document my artistry journey so it was rough getting it down to 20… But I wanted to share with you my full circle moment from Paris. When I was in high school, my dream job was to work at the MAC counter. They were THE vibe back then. Full glam hair and makeup, walking around in heels, blasting music, fast paced make overs non stop all day. Their artistry was next level. You couldn’t just walk in and get hired. I had to put in my dues starting with Clinique, which gave me the skincare and sanitization knowledge I needed. Not satisfied with the artistry level, I quit and took management positions elsewhere and ended up in corporate tech management which I absolutely hated. So that’s when I returned back to artistry full on and applied at MAC. Boom, got it! Loved it for years! But it took so long to move up with the company. With my divorce and realignment I took the operations management position with Sephora, moved to Augusta where I knew no one, and opened their new store. I absolutely loved that experience but the artistry at MAC still reeled me back in and I jumped ship right back to them when moving to Huntsville. At that point I didn’t know what the next move was. I know I didn’t want to work at the counters for the rest of my life. I had taken clients on my own throughout the years and knew bridal was where the money was at. I was on the fence about going back to school for social work, to be a social worker for dfacs… to be the one who saved me… But I started promoting freelancing and I just hit the ground running. I got my llc and that was that. Here we are 10 years later.

So back to my Paris moment… My dream job was being a MAC counter girl yall! I couldn’t even dream big enough to think of where makeup could take me! When we were shopping in Paris, on my all expenses paid work trip to Europe that I earned for myself with my artistry and professionalism, I stopped into MAC for a restock. The rep greeted me, I told her what shade I needed and she said “that isn’t your shade” and I said “I know, it’s for my client.” She said “oh you’re a makeup artist?” (IG cut me off so read the rest in my comment…)
