I promised myself I’d be transparent on this page….the beautiful parts and the hard ones.

Today is one of the hard ones. My heart feels heavy, my mind is tired, and the loneliness feels louder than usual.

I’m holding onto the hope that this is just a chapter, not the whole story.

My to do list is ready to be tackled but my brain and my body say ‘nope not right now momma’….my son is clothed and fed, I’m blessed to be at the stage where he is independent enough that I can let him hang in his room…….though he might eat all the snacks 😂😂, while I lay down.

Rest is not for the weak, it’s for the strong. The ones that have to keep going, keep pushing because there is no one coming to help, no one coming to save them, no one coming to support them. The ones that HAVE to do it all….because that’s what life handed them.

Today we honor Juneteenth—the day freedom finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

We remember the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black communities throughout history and today.

May we continue learning, listening, and working toward a future where freedom, dignity, and opportunity are experienced by everyone.
