Stout's Salon

As we celebrate 40 years of Stouts Salon, I (Brittany) wanted to share a little bit of the story behind it.

One thing many people don't know is that my grandmother (Shirley) was never a hairstylist. But my grandparents believed in my mom's (Jane) dream enough to help her open her very first salon in a small shopping center off Jacksboro Pike in Fountain City in 1986.

In 1993, my grandparents bought the building off Broadway and she moved the salon to our location by the duck pond, where we've been ever since. She built this business from the ground up through hard work, determination, and a genuine love for the people who sat in her chair.

Then, in 2003/2004, tragedy struck when a car crashed through the front of the salon. We were forced out for an entire year while the building was rebuilt. But giving up was never an option. The salon reopened, stronger than ever.

For me, this place has always been more than a salon. I grew up here, sweeping hair and watching my mom pour her heart into this business. After graduating from beauty school, I officially joined her in 2010, and it's been one of the greatest blessings of my life to continue what she started.

Thank you to every client, friend, and family member who has supported Stouts Salon over the years. You've laughed with us, cried with us, celebrated life's milestones with us, and become part of our story.

Forty years later, we're still here because of all of you. The support of our incredible community.
