Pro Tip: Foiling on Tight Curls
When I’m working with Tight Curls and looking for a lot of coverage, I take shallow, wide weaves. It allows for coverage without it looking like string or threads of color and is much softer.
If you have trouble with your partings, gently pull on the bottom of the curls and the section will release. Always be gentle and patient with curls.
With a tighter the curl pattern, I give myself a slight distance off the lip of the foil. This will give the curls space to contract without creating a foil bleed.
Never overlap, especially on curls. Curly hair usually needs extra moisture and if overlapped on can have quicker consequences.
I used L’ANZA Powder Decolorizer + 20vol with Trauma Treatment in the Decolorizer for extra Protection.

One of my favorite things I get to do every week is work with my friend Milan. Her parents and I are close and she started expressing she wanted to learn more about hair and the industry. So got her all set up with the right tools to start lessons.
I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am to work with such a passionate young woman. I’ve learned so much from her. She grounds me in my “why”. Why I love to teach, why I love doing hair, and why I started. I know I’m supposed to be the teacher here, but really I’m the student.
It’s never to early to let your littles explore their own creativity. And to get them started young ❤️ Scroll to the last slide to see how far she has come on braids after just two one hour lessons 🤩
