The last few years I’ve been very intentional about how to spend the few days after the holiday using it as a space to rest and reset post my craziest season. This year looked a little different as a cold took me down bad on the 22nd but I was so thankful to be feeling okay enough to still make my little weekend getaway in the mountains to focus on business goals and dreams.
It looked a little different than I’d planned since I was still not feeling 100%, but I’m so so grateful for the time to reflect on this year and dream up 2026. I’m immensely thankful for every guest that has sat in my chair this year and for the beauty we’ve shared together. 2026 will bring a lot of shifting and new challenges but I can’t wait to share the joy that comes with new beginnings with you all. The fun thing about the year coming to a close is looking back at the content I captured but never posted, like this sweet compilation of pure laughter with one of my favorite humans alive and the transformation that welcomed her into summer!
We did a solid chop reset (which we’re now growing out and is almost back to it!) and refreshed Liz’s lighter pieces with a warm rosey hue. The whole service was spent sharing, giggling, and deepening a friendship that started with her in the chair and me with scissors in hand. What a precious life to make friends while making them feel amazing and creating life outside of the chair at the same time ❤️

Sundays are reset days—yoga, grounding, and letting go of the week before. Mondays are for candle order fulfillment and meal prep, setting the tone before busy Tuesdays restocking the color cabinets. The rest of the week is filled with foils, family time, fun, and making everyone look and feel incredible.
Once it’s all said and done, I love to wind down by the fire with a good glass of wine. 🍷🔥

Ok so we have played with a lot a lot of things with Shannon’s hair and we’ve found ebbs and flows with what works. Recently we’ve been playing with only adding highlights and lowlights to her base instead of retouching the grey and adding highlights to blend. The result has been most importantly, healthier shimmery hair! When it comes to maintenance and health less is always more, trust the process and take risks- your hair will thank you ❤️

Ok real talk- my hair was 85% dry which is clutch to the best blowouts. A classic mistake is to start from wet and exhaust yourself in the process. I go in mostly dry with some root spray and then start in the front, always. The face framing pieces deserve the most attention because they frame your gorgeous face and most importantly, the first section you blow dry is the one you have the most energy for- so why start in the back?..tip two: keep it clean by following the blow dryer to the ends. Early in my career I was taught that to create a clean finish the blow dryer follows the brush like a trailer follows a truck, heat has to hit the ends or the finish will not be smooth. Tip 3- always ensure you have enough time between clients to finish your blowout or you’ll be stuck with only one side looking good 😂. Happy Thanksgiving my loves. Aside from providing you a handful of blissful hours or moments, my life goal is to give you the best of all worlds…hair wise (there’s only so much a girl can do!)
My dear friend and I decided a while back that we’d adjust from a dimensional balayaged look to a more soft and all over color. Any change is fun, but not all experiments in life work out and the purpose is to find what works for you and pivot as needed. So long story short, after a few months of a more neutral/natural look we needed some POP! We added a pop of blond around the hair line and blended it into the rest of the hair in a way that will maintain softness and ease of growth while still hitting the craving for a bold and funky color!
The thing about hair is that it is ever evolving. Sometimes a change doesn’t end up being the change you need and something more fun and exciting is in tow! Book the link in bio if it’s time for your change up!

If you’ve been a long term guest of mine you’ll know that yoga was a massive (if not THE) catalyst of change in my life and the trajectory of it. It’s always exciting to think about what a new year could hold. 2024 was a year of change, a year of growth, and a year of immense grief as well as immense gratitude and celebration. I opened my own salon suite, began living life on my own after a decade long relationship, travelled, completed my yoga teacher certification, and experienced more jou than I could ever imagine. Through all of the change that 2024 brought, it brought humility and thankfulness for the community of friends and clients who held me when it felt like my life was falling apart and celebrated with me as I rebuilt it. May 2025 bring more of the wonder, joy, and magic that this life has to offer. Happy New Year friends! -Katherine
