Sometimes you want a drastic change, but still want to remain blonde. Lori came in today and said she’s ready to give the bleach a break, and to go to something more fall. I loved the final result.

Most people think hairdressers suggest good shampoo to make extra money off their clients. However, THIS is proof how bad build up can get on the hair!

I was lightening a woman’s hair yesterday and noticed how resistant it was to lighten, and this I realized why. What u see at the bottom of this processing cap is buildup literally melting off the hair! The ingredients in certain shampoos are basically coating your hair with plastic. It may feel “silky smooth” at first, but after a while you get so much buildup your hair dies from the inside out, because it can’t get any moisture through the layer of coating.

Makes you think twice before grabbing that Pantene off the shelf next time 😉

Side note: everyone wondering what’s a good shampoo; your main focus is to look for products without silicone, sulfates, or parabens.

UPDATE!!!: So, I had purchased my flight to get back to Seattle in December. Today, I found out due to covid and the new restrictions, things aren’t going to be working out the way I had planned. Only one stylist can be in the salon at any given time, so this makes it a really hard and frustrating issue. I’m working on figuring out how I can accommodate you all. Please be patient with me while I figure out how to get everyone scheduled. As of now, we’re looking at December 13-21.

It was time to remove the blue color and go back to bright blonde. This was a long process. Two rounds of joico color eraser. Spot treated the small amount of mint green that was being so stubborn. Did a foil retouch. At the shampoo bowl, there was two small streaks of mint that did not want to budge. Used rose toner by Kevin Murphy to neutralize the green and voila. She’s back to an even, light blonde. Loving the end result.

This is definitely something that would happen on a Monday 😂. Taking appointments this week in Arizona, and then all of next week in Seattle.
